On Tuesday night, Fox News host Tucker Carlson drew attention to the dark side of the left’s prioritization of equity over merit in corporate hiring decisions. And nowhere is this growing trend more frightening — and potentially deadly — than in the airline industry.
In the video below, he pointed out that airlines are “dramatically lowering hiring standards for pilots and for air traffic controllers” and warned that “at some point, many people are going to die” as a result.
Carlson described several “near disasters” that have occurred in just the past few months that should have all Americans concerned about the aviation industry’s adoption of these new standards.
Last Wednesday, for example, a United Airlines flight was just about to touch down at George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston, Texas, when a second plane began taxiing right into its path. The United pilot then “aborted the landing so dramatically that people on board were terrified.”
Carlson read an account of the situation written by a veteran United Airlines pilot in December. He provided some chilling details about the consequences of the airlines’ walk on the woke side.

Airline disasters are going to be the canary in the coal mine. Then everything that is designed and built by engineers will turn to crap. Things will break, will fail, will collapse into rubble. It’ll take us 100 years to return to meritocracy after the Woke crap burns out.
Obviously, he knows that airlines don’t hire ATC. He is talking about wokeness and hiring. There was an issue a few years ago where the government was going to put equity ahead of experience by hiring women and minorities ahead of ex-military controllers.

The Chinese are without doubt truly formidable. They on average , as are other East Asians, some what more intelligent than are Europeans and white Americans as well as having a more functional social culture that is work and success driven. The Chinese have at their core a perception that they are the heirs of the one really true and correct culture, that of the Great Han nation and they will be the natural dominant regime for all time.
I have no data on this but I cannot but believe that the equity cult (which means equalization of outcomes) is not institutionalized within the armed forces. If profit driven marketplace operators are willing to risk customer base due to degrading safety and operational quality then bureaucratic government entities such as the US Navy and Air Force must be determined that gender and skin complexion are more important by far than technical competence, leadership skills and physical courage. I know the mantra of DOD in general is that technology is more important than ‘subjective and inherently racist meritocratic metrics’.
As currently done, it is making things much worse.

Leftist Response: If you’re worried about planes crashing into each other, only fly during the day and in good weather, as that way pilots can see each other.
I think the USAF did something similar, although occasionally it worked out. The best air traffic controller I ever saw, was a black female from Tennessee. That woman could really move some sheet metal around the sky.
Listen to the ATC recording of the incident at AUS where ATC put a SW jet on the runway in front of a FedEx doing a CATIII landing.
The controller (who has a sketchy record) is obviously a diversity hire who lacks basic situational awareness.
In clear weather, you can squeeze in a departure like that. At minimums, you don’t want the departing AC in the way of the ILS system antennas, much less in front of the AC landing in the blind.
Trains good, planes bad
Stupidity will eventually hit critical mass in the country and yes, air disasters will be the canary in the coal mine.
Tucker sounds the alarm every night at 8pm EST. You can set your watch by it. If he doesn’t sound the alarm, his ratings go down and his multi-million-dollar salary is in jeopardy. Outrage is his job.
