Signs of unrest surfaced almost immediately after the team's 38-35 defeat Sunday night - with disgruntled fans swarming City Hall and clashing with cops that had been stationed throughout the city in case of such an outcome.
Police scanner audio since 10:30pm suggested police had made multiple arrests, as citizens were seen scaling lampposts, chanting 'f*** the Chiefs', and hurling glass bottles throughout the city's Downtown neighborhood.
Footage circulating on social media also shows several residents lighting fireworks, with others egging on armed SWAT teams tasked with keeping the piece.
In one shocking clip, a group of Philadelphians are seen lighting fireworks, with some reports indicating the explosives are being thrown at officers.
Cops were using tear gas to deter any further disruptions, after a crushing defeat highlighted by game-altering penalties.
The loss is compounded by the fact the city's baseball team, the Phillies, similarly crashed out of the World Series just a few months ago.

It was a questionable call that locked in the win for KC.
Without the penalty, KC kicks the field goal and Philly gets the ball back with over a minute on the clock and at least one time out. Plenty of time to either win the game OR tie it with a field goal and send it to overtime.
After what was a very good game, it was just a bad way to end it.
Can’t blame them in this case. That ridiculous call ruined the game.
One of my sons has been a Philadelphia fan since he was about 10 years old. He suffered through the lean years with them. Kinda sorta wish his Iggles had pulled it off.
I can proudly say that I have watched a Stupor Bowel since 1990.
They heard Rich Kotite was returning to the Eagles.
The only thing worse that the Eagles are their fans.
Philly defensive back said he held the receiver…case closed.
The ‘lennials at the Daily Mail can’t write.
And I suspect the DM’s budget doesn’t allow for proofreaders.
“I viewed the game as a contest between a Red State and a Blue State.”
In games where I don’t care about either team (like this Superbowl), I decide who to root for based on what outcome will cause the most pain to the most leftists. In this case I rooted for the Chiefs.
What a bunch of sore losers.
They weren’t like that when I lived there in the late 70s. Frank Rizzo was the mayor then and then Willie Green. They won the World Series in 1980 and celebrated enthusiastically it didn’t tear the town up.
True
Class act to admit that, but the ball was uncatchable, and I hate slow mo replays of calls. Run it at regular speed, and you’ll see what did not reduce the guys stride for the ball.
Not a bad game up till then
The ball was unreachable because Mahomes threw it away. They didn’t want to score a touchdown there.
“Impose a television blackout on any city in which the fans behave this way.”
Who do you propose have the power to impose a blackout?
Society sure isn’t what it use to be...self-centered now and self-destructive.
BluePower…vote Blue Rat, defund the police…
Yes. I’m in the Lehigh Valley and I’m glad Philly lost because of democrat a-holes.
