Same here. Sometimes I slip the money into the waiter's pocket.
What a F’n clown.
Tax his 10% he gets from China/Ukraine. Any Congress critter who votes for this should have their finances audited as well.
They will be taxing based on a 20% tip whether the party leaves a tip or not.
Do you want kiosks? Because that’s how you get kiosks.
I tip in cash and leave a few cents on the credit card to round up to the nearest dollar so they can have something to report to the IRS.
I was going to laugh as well. Why the Hell should the Government have any reward in a person providing good service?

I tip in cash only. Some restaurants are not honest to their employees with tips on a credit card. Thus, I tip in cash only. If the waitress or waiter does not report it to the IRS, I do not care.
Same here...in fact, lately we pay the total bill plus tip in cash...they can report as they please. Small businesses deserve more support than 501c3’s

I pay by (rewards) credit card, and hand the cash to the waiter personally. People have been known to steal tips.
Also, if it’s a place I’m likely to come back to, it doesn’t hurt for my face to have a direct mental association with the cash.
I admire traditionalism. One is not a true FReeper until one can say “Proudly posting before ever reading the article’’.
So do mohels - those who do circumcisions at Jewish briths.
I’m sure the exception will be people of color, undocumented invaders, the LGBQLMNOP constituents and transgenders
Meanwhile, guess who gets a tax break...
