These quakes are being caused by the pull of the full moon. The ones 10 or more eys ago would probably have been caused by the pull of the new moon between us and the sun. death toll at 11 pm news over 3,000. Alot more collapsed with that 7.6 one a few hours after the first big one. A lot of people will probably sleep outside, even if their buildings did not collapse.

Same as 9/11 was for us.
Turkey needs massive help and endless prayer.

That’s not how it works.
Powerful(!) aftershocks may occur days, weeks, or months after the 1st large shock. Buildings may or may not be substantially undamaged and safe to ride out the next aftershock. It takes in depth inspections to determine this, and even then, a ground flaw / damage may give way in the next aftershock.
Given the temperatures, people will be forced into sheltering in buildings unlikely to be safe. Then it’s up to God (distribution of aftershocks and their strength.) Really nasty is a sequence like the New Madrid Earthquakes of 1811-1812.
At least New Madrid did not have high rise buildings. I shudder to think of what would happen in St. Louis if a NM level quake hit in our times. When researching info about the New Madrid sequence of quakes, I discovered that Caracas, Venezuela also had a severe quake in that period with around 20,000 dead. By the way, that is now what this quake has reached, and will soon surpass. I wonder if China is ripe for a bad quake. THey have had some very severe quakes with over 100,000 dead in several. Be interesting to see what happens with the coming new moon.
It works that way when you have nowhere else to put the homeless.
