The U.S. military has shot down the Chinese spy balloon over the Atlantic Ocean.
While the balloon was off the coast of South Carolina, the balloon was shot down by the U.S. military on Saturday afternoon, according to Fox News sources

Did they recover the remains to verify what sort of photography and transmission equipment the balloon was armed with?
The Chinese are not stupid - but our woke leaders are. I will never buy the excuse that "they couldn't shoot it down because it might fall on someone" About 97% percent of the USA is completely unoccupied and there was very little danger that it would've landed on anyone if it was destroyed over the northwest portion of our country.

The damn payload self destructed. It separated from the balloon after it was hit and you can see a series of small flashes a few seconds later as the individual components were detonated.

All the evidence goes to the bottom of the ocean. Red Chinese subs will soon start their 10-month trip from China across the Pacific Ocean, down around the tip of South America and up to the point where it was shot down. They will then look for their spy camera that took photos of Disney World in Florida.
I believe one of the DOD guys did say yesterday that the surveillance capacity had been neutralized...
Hopefully some useful debris can be collected.
