Dry Run: Balloons Called Top ‘Delivery Platform’ For Nuclear EMP Attack
MSN ^ | 02/03/23 | Paul Bedard

High altitude balloons, like the one China has floated over mountain state military bases this week, are considered a key “delivery platform” for secret nuclear strikes on America’s electric grid, according to intelligence officials.

Spy balloons, used by Japan to drop bombs during World War II, are now far more sophisticated, can fly at up to 200,000 feet, evade detection and carry a small nuclear bomb that if exploded in the atmosphere would shutdown the grid and wipe out electronics in a many-state-wide area.

The threat of balloon launched electromagnetic pulse attacks was warned about by a congressional EMP commission and inside the military several years ago.

In a 2015 report for the American Leadership & Policy Foundation, Air Force Maj. David Stuckenberg, one of the nation’s leading EMP experts, wrote extensively about the threat balloons carrying bombs pose to national security.

I can tell you a story I was told. A person I knew from church said he was taking care of a person who was dying from cancer. This individual was working for the military back in the 70s and said he developed a laser that during a test run was able to shoot a fighter jet out of the sky. To add credence to this story the individual I know said while he was at this individual house two men in suits approached him and told him that this man may be delirious and to never repeat anything he told him.

No kidding. Using this has a weapon makes no sense when they have ICBMs and SLBMs. Just goofy idea.

Anyone notice the dichotomy of depleting US munitions for a war in which there is no national interest and allowing CCP spy ballons just traipse through US airspace?

Does anyone know how far laser beams can go and be effective?

A ground-based laser can easily reach and damage a slow-moving target past 100,000 feet altitude if the weather is clear.

Prototype aircraft-based lasers have successfully destroyed target drones in flight.

Whether we actually have such weapons deployed is an open question. Perhaps the Chinese were looking for an answer to that question with their provocation flights over the United States.

“Easily spotted, slow travel time, uncontrollable arrival time, unreliable routing.”

It’s frightening to see that the human race has largely been perfectly trained as obedient Pavlovian dogs to heel and snap in a matter of 24 hours.

Balloon...Shmaloon...
More likely a virus-distribution system...

It is like stealing elections: Once you’ve gotten away with stealing the first one, the rest are easy...

Once you’ve gotten away with killing hundreds of thousands and an entire economy with the first virus attack, subsequent ones are easy...

All we can do is relax and keep grazing blissfully...

Once we are in the camps, we will not need to worry...

So maybe this is part of their plan to take Tawaian - neutralize the USA & then go for it

When they decide to take Taiwan, they don't have to worry about the USA.

Well it if it is a dry run Then the attack is going to shortly follow because there’s no way that china would show that they could do this and give the Usa time to prepare.

Perfect platform for bio weapons. Spread viruses that attack food crops and a virulent new strain of swine flu all spread through the nations breadbasket. We could we’ll be starving on the near future.

Norad? That’s one I haven’t heard much about over the last few years. I live in the northwest and the new name Northwest area defense sector (NWADS) is situated at the old McChord AFB under the Washington Air National Guard and First Air Force (Air Forces Northern) (JBLM). They took the original NORAD and broke it down into pieces up here into the Continental NORAD Region for peacetime air sovereignty, strategic air defense, and airborne counter-drug operations in the continental United States.

They are partnered as a bi-national United States and Canadian organization charged with the missions of aerospace warning and aerospace control for North America. Other new NORAD air defense organizations include the Eastern Air Defense Sector (EADS), the Hawaii Region Air Operations Center (HIRAOC), the Alaska Region Air Operations Center (AKRAOC) and the Canada Air Defense Sector (CADS). Everyone just a phone call away.

Modern aerostats like observation balloons are mostly made of materials like mylar, which is transparent to radar. If the aerostat becomes wet by rain or precipitation, or if it picks up a coating of dust, it would reflect some of the radar signal. Our stealth fighters are about the same. They show a good blip in the rain, but are hard to pinpoint dry and clean. And the balloons travel so slow with no heat exhaust it takes time to get them on the scope.

Enjoyed your entry. I also had dealings with Pave Paws at two different bases. But the problem with an all out nuclear attack is they can send a couple of thousand ICBMs our way with about a 20 minute warning for the first ones and we have no way of stopping them. All we can really do is get even and everyone loses. This is why there needs to be so much effort made into putting someone into the WH.

"Or so the Germans would have us believe"...

The intel guys live in a hall of mirrors where everything can be an illusion. It can make paranoid schizophrenia look like a rational conclusion.

So knowing this they just let the balloon cruise around at will for days to pick out the best spots to use the EMP on.

My thoughts too. I feel like there is a lot of over-reaction to this. All the hyperbolic functions suggested for this balloon can be achieved more effectively by some other method. I think it could be some kind of data gathering, but not as direct as taking pictures or dropping bombs via balloon.

This is silly.

Nukes ain't exactly light.

If China is going to EMP-nuke us, they're not going to use a damn unguided balloon. They'll use ICBMs, several of them at once.

If you assume, for sake of argument, this was a dry run for an EMP attack, the optimal window is in about 3-5 months. Why? Because farm equipment is down

Couple that with food prcoessing plants around the country catching fire or what have you, a military with assets diverted elsewhere, and compromised/allied political leadership in the target country....

Think of Biden as that mayor in the Colorado town in the first "Red Dawn" movie.
