An online fundraiser for Tyre Nichols’ family has raised more than $1 million in just two days.
Nichols’ mom, RowVaughn Wells, started the GoFundMe with the modest goal of getting $10,000 for mental health treatment and to create a memorial skateboard park for her 29-year-old son who died after being brutally beaten by Memphis cops.
By early Monday, it was the site’s top fundraiser — having already raised more than $1.1 million with donations from more than 30,000 people.
“My husband and I have had our entire world turned upside down by what happened to our son,” Wells said of how cops “beat him to death for no good reason.”
“We are two hardworking, loving parents, that now have to turn our full-time attention to seeking proper justice for our son,” she wrote.

I didn’t watch the video. I’ve heard that by appearances the cops were black, in the wrong and are now facing charges.
All I know is that the people who tell me I should care a great deal about this situation didn’t care one iota (or were even glad) when Ashli Babbitt was fatality shot in the neck without warning so... 🤷

It would be helpful if her concept of “justice” is defined. As I understand it the policemen have been suspended or fired from their jobs and have been charged with 2nd degree murder, aggravated assault, aggravated kidnapping and other charges. Assuming they go to trial, are convicted, and receive long prison terms, won’t justice have been served? Isn’t the process working without their full time attention?

Actual justice requires quite a bit of money in order to grease the corrupt wheels of the courts these days.

You know, I read a bunch of comments before posting and Freepers have let me down. This young man was flat out murdered by the police and still you can’t help but make stupid and idiotic comments.
I worked with him and if they raise some money to do some good, then what does that hurt.
His Dad was at work today and I spoke to him for a minute. He’s hanging in there...just how would you feel if cops beat your child to death?
What would YOU do if it was your son? Damn, do freepers have no souls?
I was hold the cops feet to the fire and try to make sure “justice” was served and not to happen again.
Thank God, someone who saw the film and knows what he is talking about.
