Look at how those officers were dressed. If they had pulled you over and immediately began dealing with you in an aggressive manner, would you assume they were real cops?
Your experience isn’t relevant in this matter. NO ONE deserves what those cops did to that man. They murdered him because they could. That’s what’s relevant.
Between macing themselves during the encounter I couldn’t help but notice, the one cop with the asp had to take several ‘fat boy’ breathers when the mace got to him. And he is the officer strutting and literally bouncing all over the scene as the beating is happening. Hi adrenalin activity beating an unarmed man to death.
Exactly. Nobody.
A sensible person would not want to get anywhere near such a situation. You may want to serve, you may be a good person, but who wants a job where facing violent situations is a requirement of the job? Who wants to have media and politicians itching to campaign against you? Who wants the Feds as your dark Lord and political master?
The response will be: Well, just be a good cop. You will have nothing to worry about.
My answer to that is: Yeah, right. There are much better jobs out there, where you face none of these risks.
At one or two points in the timeline after they removed him from the car, you can hear one cop yelling at him to lie face-down on the pavement while another cop is grabbing him and turning him onto his back.
It may turn out for these cops that their best defense in court will he to claim that they aren’t guilty because they’re retarded baboons.
If you’re white, that’s not shocking. The black men are the ones murdered by cops day after day.
If five police officers can’t subdue one belligerent man without killing him, there is something very wrong with their training.
Why should their department procedures be the only standards they are judged by? Aren’t there any legal standards for police work? Can a police department have any standards it wants?

My experience of being stopped 50+ times by corrupt Chicago cops has some relevance. I am not even a US born white person. I was born in south Asia with a brown skin.
However I do agree that thin man Tyree could have been subdued in less than 5 minutes by 5 burly cops. Tyree must have said something to the cops to cause them to go postal.
I was on a jury in solid republican Dupage county in Illinois. The accused man was a frail 70+ year old dude. The charge was possesion of illigal drugs and assaulting the cops. The 3 cops involved were in court. They were each over 200lbs, and young. I voted guilty on drug possession charge because the conficated evidence was right there in court. But I refused to vote guilty on assault charge. All other jurors voted guilty on all charges. We kept voting again and again and the result was same. After 10+ votes, I just got tired as it was already very late evening and I relented with the majority of jurors. I have regreted that vote ever since.
This is what happens when qualifications are disregarded and diversity drives hiring.

I haven’t watched the video carefully yet, but a part I did see shows the suspect on the ground and surrounded by cops. Still, one of the cops is leaning towards him and continually spraying pepper spray into his face.
To be honest, one death by cop is too many.
Initially he DID comply. He got loose and fled when it became apparent the cops were in full “kick ass” mode.
That said, if he had rolled over on his belly and been cuffed - or TOLD to roll onto his belly instead of being to to “get on the ground” when he WAS on the ground, things would not have escalated.

But they had enough men that one man could have done nothing but hold an arm, and one hold each leg, and another cuff his hands behind his back. If I had been the guy, I would have been in fear of dying.
Sometimes cops are bad. This is NOT like George Floyd! This was insane. They got frustrated and went into judge, jury and executioner mode. And that MUST be punished!
Perfection is just not going to exist in the real world.

The laws are different in every state. Police CAN and DO ask people to get out of their cars. Sometimes pulling them out if they refuse.
