Trump congratulates McDaniel on RNC chair reelection

Former President Trump congratulated Ronna McDaniel for winning a fourth term as chairwoman of the Republican National Committee (RNC) on Friday.

“Congratulations to Ronna McDaniel on her big WIN as RNC CHAIR,” Trump wrote in a post on his Truth Social, before later baselessly alleging Democrats were rigging elections. The former president had not offered a public endorsement of any candidate ahead of the vote.

McDaniel won reelection for the RNC after committee members held a secret ballot vote in Dana Point, Calif. The incumbent faced two other challengers: California-based attorney Harmeet Dhillon and MyPillow CEO and prominent election denier Mike Lindell. McDaniel ultimately received 111 votes, while Dhillion received 51 and Lindell received 4.

The contentious election came after some members of the party voiced calls for new leadership in the wake of a disappointing November election for the GOP. Republicans were unable to flip the Senate, and while they were able to flip the House, they hold only a thin majority in the lower chamber.

DISAPPOINTING! Trump has a habit of picking these unreliable characters to support and appoint to key position. Its the "Make Trump Lose Again" strategy.

Ronna McDaniel is part of us losing elections over and over. She is completely ineffective with the Dems cheating situation. Lastly from what I have read on this forum, she and the RNC took a vacation and had a party when there were critical races on the line. Were there enough Republican election lawyers in Arizona and Nevada last year??

Ronna even suggested that her job is to make sure that Trump does not run third party in the next election. Is she already expecting Trump to lose the primary and so consider running third party? What does she know that the rest of us don't.

Roe v. Wade. For many including myself, that's the #1 issue. Were it not for President Trump getting three (fairly) Conservative justices on the court, it wouldn't have been returned to the States where it belongs.

I'll take that victory, it's going to save millions of unborn childrens lives.

Perhaps Trump did not publicly endorse McDaniel, but his people were pushing for her to win. The fact is that Trump has a horrible track record when it comes to political picks.

Yeah and some of them states are doing a bang up job of legislating. Not asking the people just marching ahead and doing whatever they want because a vocal minority tells them to do it. When people do get asked what they want, like in Kansas guess how that went.

If state governments can act like this on the this issue what’s to stop them from other authoritarian type acts?

Why post high IQ post? Let the shallow thinkers have their go at attacking the winner.

AT THE END OF DAY EACH CANDIDATE WINS OR LOSES BASED ON PERSONAL POLITICAL SKILLS.

RNC chair can never drag a bad nominee across the finish line.

2022 November fiasco had very little to do with McDamiel. Democrats skillfully exploited abortion issue and that was real reason for the poor election results. Senator Linda helped Democrats by introducing a bill few weeks before election which would ban all abortions after x number of weeks. Young women came out of the woodwork to vote democrat in much larger number than usual.

Atwater was a Bush flunkie, so I guess it could be argued that the RNC has been poorly run for a very long time. McDaniel is especially incompetent, though, and most likely corrupt since she is a Romney.

2016 would have been but for technical difficulties the Rats had in not ginning up enough fraudulent votes.

I am a loyal supporter and admirer of President Trump, but I can not understand his support for her.

I think that if any one thing can indicate the demise of the repubs, this is one of the top two or three.

McDaniel was Trump’s handpicked leader for the RNC, so his support of her re-election is hardly a surprise.

But does Trump really think anything will change with McRomney still in charge of the RNC. The party needs to be completely overhauled, Trump was the best chance to do it, but he’s sitting on the sidelines.

Trump is the one who put her there to start with.

I like your reasoning. Its just that the republican status quo in dc has no vision of the comprehensive scope of the democrat electioneering.

the dems basically secured 2024 by securing the voting apparatus in nv pa and az in 2022.

without those states the republicans don’t have a path to the presidency.
