...Just defund the DOJ until they decide to play ball (I know, the corrupt uniparty already funded them through September, but maybe there are procedural maneuvers that can be used to counteract that funding in some way, or at the very least make sure they don’t get a penny after September 30th unless they comply with Congressional requests).

I think the opportunity comes up next week. The US has hit the debt limit. Now some expenses can be paid out of tax receipts, but it seems to me that DOJ and FBI salaries can be far down on the priority list. The government usually issues special IOUs for salaries, that most banks honor, but a notation on DOJ ones that says "this is unlikely to ever be paid" would go a long way toward resolving the problem.

verry simple remedy....call merric garland to the house and demand the documents. when meric garland refuses. have the master at arms detain Marrick garland till the documents show up...the job of congress is oversight if this ends up before the supreme court so be it.

The House controls the purse strings.

Threaten to defund the DOJ and then do it if they don’t comply.

It amazes me that the public can’t figure out that Democrats are sleazebags.

swamp creature: Mr. Uriarte has dedicated most of his career to public service. Notably, he served as Associate Deputy Attorney General in the Office of the Deputy Attorney General at the Department and as Senior Counsel in the Office of the Secretary at the U.S. Department of the Interior during the Obama-Biden Administration. Mr. Uriarte also served as Chief Counsel for Investigations on the House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Crisis under House Majority Whip James E. Clyburn, as Counsel to Representative Elijah Cummings on the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, and as Legislative Counsel to Representative Judy Chu. Mr. Uriarte began his service on Capitol Hill as a law clerk to then-Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Arlen Specter.

Congress created the exec agencies. Constitutionally, it has plenary oversight authority.

But, unasserted power is power surrendered. Most Congress-clowns would rather avoid possibly bad press and quietly let the Administrative State protect Brandon and his rats.

Then it sounds to me like the feebs no longer need Congress to fund them. Cancel their funding, GOP.

That’s why Garland was so quick out of the gate with special prosecutor.

“ Hold him in Contempt. And make them arrest themselves.”

Send the Sgt. At Arms to make the arrest. Congress has that power. Then toss them in the DC jail. No need to depend on the DOJ.
