District Attorney Mary Carmack-Altwies announced plans on Thursday to charge actor and anti-gun activist Alec Baldwin with two counts of involuntary manslaughter in the fatal shooting of Halyna Hutchins on the set of the Western movie “Rust.” Baldwin is responsible for pointing the gun at Hutchins and failing to make sure the gun and supposedly dummy ammunition were properly checked, according to prosecutors.
Despite his blatant disregard for gun safety, Baldwin is bewildered punishment has been levied against him, with his attorney claiming the charges are a “terrible miscarriage of justice.” As an anti-Second Amendment activist who has a habit of demonizing the gun in criminal shootings instead of the person pulling the trigger, Baldwin is probably perplexed that he, not the weapon itself, is being slapped with criminal charges.
According to Baldwin, everyone and everything are to blame for the shooting, except himself. To skirt responsibility, Baldwin has insisted that staff told him the weapon was unloaded and even that he did not pull the trigger (a claim the FBI forensic report stated is implausible). Yet even if Baldwin’s gun had fired without him pulling the trigger, Baldwin would still be at fault for failing to follow safety protocol.
As John R. Lott Jr., president of the Crime Prevention Research Center, writes, “The first rule of gun safety is you don’t point a gun at something unless you intend to shoot it. Even if you believe the gun is unloaded, you don’t point it directly at others.” Baldwin failed to follow the first rule when he carelessly pointed his gun at Hutchins.

Alec is finally learning that, guns don’t kill people. People kill people, even when guns are the weapon. All guns are innocent.

SNL is really blowing an opportunity for big rating numbers by not having Donald Trump to come in and play Alec Baldwin in some “Rust” skits.
My prediction is that if anyone is going to jail it’s going to be Hannah Reed. I’m no big fan of Alec but he did not do this on purpose. His biggest problem will be a civil suite afterward for really big $$$$$$. I want to know specifics about that gun. Was just 1 round live and the others blanks and if that live round was first, under the hammer, and not randomly mixed by accident with the blanks. If that was the case that only one round was live and it was set up to be the first fired it would very suspicious indeed. In addition that in the trial if it comes out that Baldwin was involved in any way in the hiring that stupid , unserious, inexperienced and immature tattooed so called “Armorer”, Hannah Reed to save money, ... ..woe be to you Alec.....woe be to you in the resulting civil suite...
I seem to remember that members of the film crew had filed safety complaints in the days leading up to the shooting over live ammunition being brought to the film site and used for target practice.
Bringing live ammunition anywhere near a film set breaks about fifty rules.

That is not a known fact. Just today I had a discussion where one probability was that she had something on him he wanted kept quiet for forever. Who knows, maybe a romance, maybe something else. There’s nothing like an “accident” in front of witnesses. And if he does go down for man slaughter, he stands a greater chance of never serving jail time as opposed to murder one.
We have to remember he’s an arrogant lefty, capable of just about anything.

Even knowing they were all blanks one does not aim at another because the wadding in the blank can be dangerous at a certain distance.
Ask Jon Eric Hexum or Bruce Lee’s actor son about that.

It’s my understanding the civil issue has been resolved.

For some of the scenes, some, "cosmetic," rounds were made for the camera by pulling bullets, emptying the powder charge and reseating the bullets in the cases.
At some point before the shooting scene, somebody dropped a hammer on one of the cosmetic rounds. The primers had not been rendered inert creating just enough pressure for the projectile to jump the barrel-cylinder gap and lodge in the barrel.
Then when it was time for the shooting scene, the cylinder was filled with full charge blanks which created enough pressure to move the bullet down and out the barrel with enough velocity to kill Lee.
I had to look myself!
