WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Senior U.S. officials are advising Ukraine to hold off on launching a major offensive against Russian forces until the latest supply of U.S. weaponry is in place and training has been provided, a senior Biden administration official said on Friday.
The official, speaking to a small group of reporters on condition of anonymity, said the United States was holding fast to its decision not to provide Abrams tanks to Ukraine at this time, amid a controversy with Germany over tanks.
U.S. talks with Ukraine about any counter-offensive have been in the context of ensuring the Ukrainians devote enough time first to training on the latest weaponry provided by the United States, the official said.

I question the political will of the west. They have no interests, much less existential interests in Ukraine. And the price is quite high.
With the Liberation of Soledar, things are moving much more quickly than just a few weeks ago. If the Ukrainians are being told to wait several months before trying to take Russian land, there may not be much of their country left to launch an offensive from.

Euronews this week said over 200 Abrams tanks arrived in Poland this week and they showed video of them on trains heading for the Ukrainian border.
Got to do just enough to keep it going but never enough to win. It’s so...familiar somehow.
they need to simply keep ambushing them, if they gather in one spot for an all-out attack, they will be wiped out.
Hit and Run, destroy supply lines, take out command and control this is how you bleed Russia to death. And a few hits on critical infrastructure within Russia to boot!

Putting off an offensive may lead to your getting pounded by your opponents offensive. Ukraine will soon regret getting in bed with the US government.

It’s possible these tanks were promised to Poland. But in the video they just showed them moving to the border on trains.

Those tanks are not going to Ukraine.
Maybe Germany is changing sides.
They will not survive ten minutes after crossing the Ukrainian border - and the Russians may not wait.
Doubtful that the US wants to deliver tanks to Russia. It’d take weeks to train the Ukes to use them. And that’s if the Ukes already have experienced tankmen. Green troops will take months.
Russians have not been able to interdict any of the weapons crossing into Ukraine, since they are currently not flying sorties over Ukraine.
Are they also sending trained men to operate and MAINTAIN that amalgamation?
Also, the equipment listed is enough for 1 mechanized division with an artillery brigade. PERHAPS another brigade of man portable weapons.
No Grant because he did not care how many men were lost as long as he was able to grab glory.
