Maybe then I won’t have to hear their stupid, loud pipes. Why that is not considered noise pollution is beyond me. What if I cut off the muffler on my truck? Flame away.
A Harley ain’t a Harley if it sounds like a BMW.
I ALWAYS cut the mufflers off my trucks.
Am I a bad person?
You’re getting cranky, Crusty....
What's the first thing a driver will say after hitting a motorcycle?
"I didn't see him."
“Why that is not considered noise pollution is beyond me.”
Too many cops like to ride motorcycles, that’s why.
A bike-salesman friend of mine once said that Harleys are the most efficient way of turning gasoline into noise without the side-benefit of power.
Yeah really. I love bikes but these Aholes with the open drag pipes need to be prosecuted without fail every time they fire up.
Doubly stupid is the way there burn out their own engines by being too stupid to remap the EFI when they run those pipes.
This goes for the Aholes with the 4into1s too. I can hear those jerks a mile away every weekend night at 2 am in the summer.
“Maybe then I won’t have to hear their stupid, loud pipes. Why that is not considered noise pollution is beyond me. What if I cut off the muffler on my truck? Flame away.”
It is and also the mods are not street legal.
Harley riders are so deaf they have to go open pipes to hear their engine.
Flame away.No flame from me. The sooner those inconsiderate assholes go electric or rot in hell the better.
Not flaming, but I always thought that the noisy rumble of Harley-Davidson engines was about 90% of the “hog” brand. Go woke, go broke. H-D has no real future an electric-bike maker, as this move will alienate their core customer. Only a matter of time now before the ChiComs buy the H-D brand out of bankruptcy and slap it on their own electric cycles.
Now they can change their motto from:
“Loud pipes save lives”
to
“Silence is golden”.
Maybe then I won’t have to hear their stupid, loud pipes. Why that is not considered noise pollution is beyond me. What if I cut off the muffler on my truck? Flame away.
You must be the old man that yells at a cloud, LOL!
The noise motorcycles make is a safety measure for the rider. It’s bad enough that other drivers do not see motorcycles. Now they won’t hear them either. Bad idea.
“ Maybe then I won’t have to hear their stupid, loud pipes. Why that is not considered noise pollution is beyond me. What if I cut off the muffler on my truck? Flame away.”
That’s actually a safety thing.
Motorcycles are harder to see and too many accidents happen because drivers don’t see them.
The noise helps let a driver know they are there.
I’ll have to join you on that one. And trucks. The law here says the exhaust can’t be modified to produce sound louder than as equipped from the factory. NO ENFORCEMENT of that here. I never did understand the fascination with loud obnoxious cars, trucks and motorcycles even in my misspent youth.
Loud pipes save lives.
Many riders will tell you that the noise is a safety feature, in that it alerts drivers who might otherwise not see them.
