Soccer Moms are giving way to Single Woke Females — the new “SWFs” — as one of the most potent voting blocs in American politics.
Unmarried women without children have been moving toward the Democratic Party for several years, but the 2022 midterms may have been their electoral coming-out party, as they proved the chief break on the predicted Republican wave. While married men, women and unmarried men broke for the GOP, CNN exit polls found that 68% of unmarried women voted for Democrats.
The Supreme Court’s August decision overturning Roe v. Wade was certainly a special factor in the midterms, but longer-term trends show that single, childless women are joining African Americans as the Democrats’ most reliable supporters.
Their power is growing thanks to the demographic winds. The number of never-married women has grown from about 20% in 1950 to more than 30% in 2022, while the percentage of married women has declined from almost 70% in 1950 to under 50% today. Overall, the percentage of married households without children has declined from 37% in 1976 to 21% today.
A new Institute for Family Studies analysis of 2020 Census data found that one in six women do not have children by the time they reach the end of their childbearing years, up from one in 10 in 1990. Single adult women now total some 42 million, comparable to the key African-American voting bloc (46 million), while vastly larger than key groups like labor-union members (14 million) or college students (20 million).
The Pew Research Center noted by 2019 that since 1960, single-person households in the United States have grown from 13% to 27%. Many, particularly women, are not all that keen on finding a partner.

Nationalizing the Abortion issue is a terrible mistake for Lindsey Graham and others. As long as they keep it a state-level issue then the Republicans win on this. What you will see happen is for the Purple states to lose the extremists to the Blue states who are litmus test voters and thus states like Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Michigan, North Carolina, Arizona, and Nevada will go Republican for the long run.
Now some conservatives will still bury their head in the sands and ignore the math as they try to micromanage medicine in other states than where they live. They need a reality check. What’s going to happen if they pursue this strategy is that eventually the Dems will have all power in DC like they did in 2009/2010 and 2021/2022 and then they will use that power to force the red/purple states to bow down to their tyranny. And besides, from their conservative states they are never going to get western Europe, Japan, China, and the rest of the world to obey their views on Abortion. Unless the USA government funds a standing military of over 1 billion troops overseas they’ll never be able to make this happen.
If you want to live in a Pro-Life State then don’t try to impose your views on Abortion at the federal level. Otherwise, not only will you fail on this but you will also lose the pro-Life status of your own State in the long run.

While I agree with you in re to the idea that such comments make half the population hate conservatives and think Republicans are neanderthals living in the Dark Ages, I have found that facts and reason have absolutely NO affect on the liberal mind. I am totally serious. I love to engage and discuss issues. But liberals will simply dismiss facts without even considering their significance to the issue, and hold on to their beliefs come hell or high water.
I think I understand their “logic”. To acknowledge the facts would mean having to reconsider their world view and possibly admitting they are wrong. That would mean admitting that Republicans/conservatives are not the evil scum they believe them to be...which...if voiced...would cause them to be expelled from the libtard “we are better than them” club.
Better and easier to pretend such facts don’t exist and remain a member of the club in good standing.
Young men definitely share the blame in our current dysfunction but in the end there can be no mistaking the outcomes: They feel they risk a lot more, so they won’t engage/marry/breed. No matter what they bring to the table, most young women are unable to convince a mate to enter into the legal contract of marriage or the obligations of breeding.
Once marriage became “until I meet someone better do we part”, it was doomed. A few still marry out of tradition or for religious reasons, but otherwise young people of both genders know marriage isn’t in the cards - and it very obviously rankles one gender more than the other. Young women know they will be worked (and taxed) like men for decades, often to provide goods and services for foreign offspring - and they strongly resent it.
The flight of young skilled American workers from the NYC metro area is couched in terms of “high cost of living”, but the media carefully avoids pointing out that what is driving these (often childless, unmarried) workers out of NY and NJ is the fact that the high cost of living is due to the fact that 2/3 of the sky-high property taxes are paid to the local schools - so they know they are subsidizing imported children while having none of their own.
The real issue is who will provide the tax revenue to pay for all these goodies; when young men increasingly never leave the nest and spend their earnings on themselves, they feel much less wage pressure - and their contributions drop. The pressure by the feds, states, and even cities to tax 1%ers is a reflection of this new reality that the former middle class (primarily white worker/taxpayers) is disappearing, both due to demographics and their career choices, so the anticipated revenue must be replaced from elsewhere - or the “freebies” disappear, or you simply print more money and give it out (creating the inflation we’re experiencing now).
Lindsay Graham didn’t make a mistake. It was purposeful and back stabbing, and he got what he wanted politically.
What will bring white women towards the Republican Party is the fact that they realize Dem programs tax them out the arse to pay for others’ children while they can’t get any men to give them any; there are no tax write-offs for cats and dogs, and as women advance further and further in the workplace they pay more and more into the pot - and they resent it.
It is very clear who has the problem in terms of relations between men and women today; many young men have quietly retreated into their leisure activities/perpetual adolescence while the women screech about their lack of marriage offers and children. They can clean the snow off their own cars as far as the young men are concerned; have at it...

Soccer Moms were self-centered and entitled. Single Woke Females are self-centered and entitled. The only difference is that Soccer Moms were obnoxious about their kids. SWFs are obnoxious about everything.

I would never recommend seeking a South American resident, this akin to men who marry some Philapina and find out the bad consequences. There are many Mex and Central American descent females in the US. Many are quite approachable and are practical and sensible about relationships and marriage. Middle class Latina’s from some South American country are both ignorant of basic US culture and are very entitled and classist. I know who literally married the cleaning lady in his office, A nice looking young woman who, he says, is nothing but kind and she definitely does not want to import her family or believe her husband should damage their family finances, they have one child now and want two moor as finances permit, by acting as private foreign aid agency.

Feminism has destroyed almost as many young men as marriage material as well. Your statistic here more or less proves it.
When I was young college educated women my age simply hated the idea of marriage and family. At the base these young women knew what their families had been and the level of commitment to family and one man to them meant the end of the exciting single life that imagined and felt they were entitled to. There was simply no exciting fun in subordinating oneself to pregnancy, small humans, one guy and a house in the burbs.
Exciting was a code for lots of uncommitted sex seeking ‘mean exciting men’ who give girls that wonderful tingle of just a bit of danger while off on a weekend fling featuring blowing dope, expensive dining and hotels and lots of imaginative heavy duty sexual intercourse. Also exciting meant saving for a foreign fling each summer, back then it was Greek Isles, India, Dalmacia or Baja every year where there was plenty of pot and easy sex in a striking foreign venue.
This was the original me, me, me culture that is still regnant. Many young men gradually withdrew from the loathsome culture and looked for lower middle class girls , particularly those who had children from a first mairrage. The US has damaged its fundamental institutions by embracing the bitch goddess of exciting singleness. There is a really good book that tells this story in bruising detail, ‘Loose Change’. The authoress is upper middle class left liberal but her narrative is unsparing. It was published in 1977 and their plenty of copies around at Abebooks etc. A longer (too long) literary treatment of part of the 60’s poison is Mitchner’s ‘The Drifters’. The characters in it are the next generation after ‘Loose Change’ and they are even moor unmoored, uncentered and eventually profoundly alienated.
Today we reap the rewards of the 60’s poison with single parenthood (probably the single most significant sociological trend of the 21st century), infantilized or feminized and profoundly weak men , mysogynyistic women and a profoundly anti-family public school and welfare bureaucracy. These are a lot more significant than the way some of the minority of traditional values men express their alienation for first liberated and now woke womanhood. How many of your female peers embrace the toxic me,me,me-exciting singlehood-liberated from normative cultural values-and generalized mysogyny towards normative men?
