More than half of those proposed cuts – $3.3 billion – come from the state’s clean transportation initiatives. Newsom hopes to offset those reductions with federal funds

So federal funds will be used in California to pursue virtue signaling climate action. I live in California and I want someone in Arkansas to buy me a Tesla. Sounds fair.

Yeah, doesn’t it...

Newsom was sure basking in the sunlight last year, looking
real good with all those federal tax dollars in his pocket.

Problem is, these guys spend more than what they have, and
always seem to set up new outlay paths during times when
they should be spending on debt instead.

That's ok, they're both a fiction:

"efforts to combat climate change and transition to zero-emission vehicles"

There is no "man-made climate change" and the resources to produce and charge those vehicles do indeed, produce emissions.

I doubt Congress will continue doling out cash to California aside from it would normally send now that the scamdemic is over. But even with federal funds there is absolutely no way possible California can make its green wetdream of only electric vehicles a reality. Ain’t gonna happen.

These people are idiots who have an unrealistic view of our ability to make technological advancements. They are the kind who thought in the 70s that Space 1999 was certainly the future with a fully operational moon base. Or that a “Robinson Caruso on Mars” type mission would be done before the end of the century. Fact is, other than Kennedy’s man on the moon challenge, we have never come close to meeting such challenges. Converting from oil to electric vehicles is just as big a challenge as a base on Mars, probably more of one. It will cost trillions and may very well destroy our economy. Unless we build thousands of nuclear power plants to generate the electricity to charge EVs then coal, natural gas, and petroleum will still be needed to run those power stations, making the whole effort moot.

What, running headlong into reality already?
I expected the sham to last at least another two or three years.

Environmental-headcases better start raising money if they want things done. You want it, you pay for it.

The cuts actually threaten the bank accounts of environmental zealots.

They live off government, corporate, and foundation money, donations, grants, subsidies, etc.

CA should levy a tax on every EV sold and every solar panel or wind turbine sold in California to fund the environmental and climate change initiatives.
