Leading US attorney Prof. Alan Dershowitz told Galei Tzahal's Morning News Show with Efi Triger that the government's planned reforms to Israel judicial system will open the Jewish State to greater international criticism and make it more difficult for supporters like him to defend Israel.
"I have no doubt that if the plan is implemented it will weaken the position of Israel and the position of the its Supreme Court in the world, I am certainly afraid that it will be much more difficult for people like me to defend Israel against its critics," Dershowitz said.

Alan is a pretty honest straight shooter on sone USA politics — he’s left wing but spoke up against sone of the DNC. Monies lies and sabotage. Many leftists hate him because of this tendency towards candor. But here his leftist commie style inclinations shine right through, alas.
The Israeli Supreme Court has done tremendous damage to Israel and had desperately needed reform for a number of years.
I’m happy to see that the Israelis are working to clean it up some. Let’s see how well they can do it!

I must recuse myself, because I can’t see how anybody can still be a Dem on any issue. But somehow they are still numerous, and Alan is amongst them.
What Israel needs worse than support from secular American Jews (Like Dershowitz) is strong, conservative internal leadership, like Bibi and Ben-Gvir.
And Bibi and Ben-Gvir they got, so if Dershowitz feels the compulsion top defend somebody, maybe he contact O.J. and see if The Juice has any more cut-and-dried murder charges pending.
That’s what the “reforms” are designed to do.

Yesterday, the punishment of the terrorist who was complicit in the rape of the 10-year-old girl from the Negev was announced. That terrorist who shined a flashlight on the girl’s face so that she could not recognize him and on that occasion blocked her mouth so that the other terrorist could carry out his plot.
Do you know what the terrorist’s punishment is? You won’t believe it. But his punishment is a total of 200 hours of community service.
Shame! A court that unfortunately serves the criminals. And you want us to believe that court?
Minister Akunis to Boaz Golan: “The fact that they are losing does not mean that democracy is in danger”

Minister of Science, Innovation and Technology Ofir Akunis was interviewed this evening (Monday) on the “Open Studio” program with Boaz Golan, on Channel 14.
At the beginning of his remarks, Minister Akunis said: “I still propose to separate the general prosecution from the advice to the government. We are starting a four-year term - the amounts of corrections are enormous. The reform will be large and broad.”
He later told Golan that “just last week, from morning to night, I met all the CEOs one after the other, today there is an agenda in the Knesset - I said that at this stage I intend not to comply with the Norwegian law, therefore I will be both a minister and an MK. This A lot of big work. There is a huge and important office.
I get an office that shapes the future of the State of Israel. I think there are few ministers who have had this great privilege. When dealing with innovation, the security aspect is super important - it preserves our security superiority in this “crazy” space. Don’t make a mistake in the days of peace - the enemies are making plans.”
The minister also said: “I absolutely condemn the calls against Justice Minister Yariv Levin. There is no danger to democracy - people should understand that if they lose, it does not mean that democracy is in danger.
Understand - we are making correction these days, these days are the exact opposite of a danger to democracy. They are a real correction in a system that went beyond every rule and law and operated without interruption for many years.”
On the subject of positions of trust, Akunis said: “A year and a half ago, dozens of CEOs of ministers from the Yesh Atid party, Labor and other left-wing parties - were quickly approved. Even now there is a confirmation, I am also waiting for the confirmation of Osnat Mark. This is a dangerous, racist and misogynistic attack. Zero responses and backing from women’s organizations.
I am sure she will be an excellent director, one does not have to be a scientist to be an excellent director of the Ministry of Science.”
