By popular request, this is another "High Noon" thread LIVE from D.C. in the heart of the Swamp!
Did McCarthy make a deal to get enough support either from the 20-21 hold out Republicans to become Speaker, or to get the Dems to vote present, or not vote, such that he might become Speaker underhandedly?
Will Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) again nominate President Donald John Trump, the rightful President of the United States, to be Speaker of the United States House of Representatives, such that he might return as POTUS after a successful petition for writ of quo warranto to remove Slow Joe and the Ho?
Do the Dems have a token white Congresscritter to nominate Jeffries to show they are a party of ethnic diversity?
Stay tuned to this Bat Channel!
I see that you're jackassin’ on a Friday, early.
Do better, Fury.
will bind McCarthy to whatever changes are being agreed to. He will be somewhat nuetered.
= = =
Probably neutered by Dems, with a deeper level of agreement that we don’t see.
What is the enforcement mechanism for any deal reached between McCarthy and the holdouts?
/\
Exactly. We have a constitution, a bill of rights and thousands of laws, and these grifters in d.c. routinely ignore them every damn day.
And who will be the enforcement mechanism ? Soros judges that’s who. In other words no one.
//
What specifically could be done to make the deal happen if McCarthy changes his mind on one issue or the other.
/\
Nothing.
If they move to remove him, the remaining bought and paid-for Republicans will simply vote to keep him.
/\
Or kev will just squat In the office and flip everyone the bird
Just
Like
Now.
/
Therefore, I only see unenforceable promises...
/\
Yup.
LOL! I’m trying, I’m trying, but Boebert and Gaetz are running rings around me!
Not necessarily.
If there are 3 missing votes, then the bar is 216 votes to win. With Republicans having 224 seats, McCarthy can lose 6 votes and still win.
At this point he has 1 vote to give.

No jackassin' there, except on The Sham's part.
Re: 207 - Agree on Hannity - haven’t listened or watched him in years. Watching Rush shows from 2014 imparts more interesting subjects and food for thought than tuning in Hannity.
Rep. Matt Rosendale MT votes for Jim Jordan for Speaker of the House.

I don’t think its ever been in question that conservatives are the minority. But that doesn’t mean that the current crop of Republican reps are what we would historically term “moderates” either. Anymore than the current crop of Democrats are what we would historically term “liberal”.
The majority of our current crop of representatives and senators are all pretty much uniparty corruptocrats with very little ideology other than accumulating wealth and power. They don’t stand for much of anything.
Yeah, sadly you're right. She won speaker with what... 215 votes?
At least Rosendale still voted with the holdouts so that's 6, making it a little more difficult for a McCarthy/Dem horrible bargain to transpire.
why did he “have to” do it?
I wonder how many people left to go to Biden's Insurrection Party at the White House?

Bonds of love did not keep all those Kev votes so strongly in-line. Fear works too.
But today is still a day for celebration. The Dems have their new holy day, Jan 6th. But so will we.
The rebels forced the party and new speaker to promise several things a decent speaker candidate would have proposed from the beginning. Win.
They flashed some muscle when leverage was at hand. This is not just for the immediate concessions. It is a warning for future votes. Somewhat analogous to Trump bombing Syria to show he is serious. Big Win.
They showcased some lesser-known good folks whose increased visibility is beneficial to our future. Win.
They got the Kev side to fawn a dozen speeches presenting a dozen faces, on TV, about how much they like things we like and will pursue things we desire. Making later caves somewhat less likely. Or at least more painful. Win.
They forced all those deadbeats to show up for work like it was Elon on the gavel. Win.
The lesson here is that 20 brave souls can help expose and steer the party in directions the weak majority claim to support anyway. The party always had political whips, the 20 were the principle whips. This week the establishment felt the tip of the wave and heard a warning not to the cave.
This is not chaos. It is a much over-due political market correction.
There are different types of wins. Time will tell. But if these poker warriors called the establishment to shift a bit closer to the base, then even if not a total win it is grand win in trajectory and momentum.
Steering the ship before it ever leaves the port. Win.
McCarthy appears to be stuck at 214 with three members not voting.
So... Still short?
Pity that.
Bravo. Outstanding post, top to bottom.
One worthy of being posted more than once, on additional threads.
McC needs 3 of them to get to 217.
If Rats leave or start voting 'present' it sounds like that would lower the minimum of 217 McC would need.
I hope the original 20 refrain from voting until the very end - and see how evil Rats decide to vote....
