As for those elections, those are state level matters, over which McCarthy had no authority. I’m unclear on what you think he should have done on the candidates’ behalf.

The point is both drag on for a long time.

And neither should.

I’m surprised the House GOP caucus isn’t begging Paul Ryan to be speaker again. Sheeesh.

"2. Put Thomas Massie in charge of a new Church committee"

Ahem ahem. Someone has been reading my posts...

"The knock-on affect is the Deep State directly attempting to de-legitimize the incoming 118th GOP Congress and the flood of investigations that will start in the first 100 days.

The first thing to do is establish the Church Committee II, a 3-year tribunal that will punish the politicization of the Deep State against half of this country, and more particularly against one man.

I say 3-year because the Church Committee II will release its report on the 50th Anniversary of the Church Committee in 2025, after Trump is re-elected, so that he may observe his enemies driven before him."

"In the need to develop a capacity to know what potential enemies are doing, the United States government has perfected a technological capability that enables us to monitor the messages that go through the air.

Now, that is necessary and important to the United States as we look abroad at enemies or potential enemies. We must know, at the same time, that capability at any time could be turned around on the American people, and no American would have any privacy left: such is the capability to monitor everything—telephone conversations, telegrams, it doesn't matter. There would be no place to hide.

If this government ever became a tyranny, if a dictator ever took charge in this country, the technological capacity that the intelligence community has given the government could enable it to impose total tyranny, and there would be no way to fight back because the most careful effort to combine together in resistance to the government, no matter how privately it was done, is within the reach of the government to know. Such is the capability of this technology.

I don't want to see this country ever go across the bridge. I know the capacity that is there to make tyranny total in America, and we must see to it that this agency and all agencies that possess this technology operate within the law and under proper supervision so that we never cross over that abyss. That is the abyss from which there is no return." -- Sen. Frank Church, Meet the Depressed, August 18, 1975

America is an oligarchy trying desperately to still appear like a democracy

America is an kleptocracy trying desperately to still appear like a Constitutional Republic.

There. Fixed it.

I’ll jump in here and remind all that they should think of the UK or more importantly Israel or Lebanon.

The recent PM elections for the Tories was not easily won. More to the point, In Israel, the various coalitions of minorities took a very long time to negotiate what ended up being the government. That government didn’t last very long because some of the coalition ceased support. In Lebanon and other such places, the majority could not gain enough minority support to ever form a government.

To be concerned about a mere 24 hours as the Republican coalitions jostle is a joke. The jostling indicates strength rather than weakness.

Quit acting dumb.

You saw my answer on the other thread to you.

/\

It’s not ALL about his vote

it’s about his non leadership and refusal to fight the battles that count.

He left Karl lake out to dry.

If Arizona had been funded to win it would have thrown all the election fraud into the open

That domino would have made their whole cartel unwind.

And don’t even start spewing about all the wins that have no effect.

Arizona
Georgia
Pennsylvania

THOSE fights were the important ones.

Where was kev
(and ronna and the gope ) ?

Stabbing us in the back.

Kev us a ho and needs to go.

/\

Authority ?

What, judicial ?

Quit being dumb.

You know exactly what my point is and you can throw out all the diversionary turds you want rino, that’s my answer.

I try to think that, knowing most citizens aren't watching or will soon forget. But, the Speaker has responsibilities that commence fast and the time for the commission to select the nominee is right after the election - and before now.

Not only is McCarthy unable to bring the last group over to his side, he can’t keep those who already support him in line. Just what, exactly, is the reason why he believes he should be Speaker?

Because of that tradition long-held by the establishment GOP:
It's his turn.

McCarthy isn’t a leader; he’s a manager. He wants to manage the House, rather than lead the Republicans in a resurgence of conservative philosophy. He wants to be speaker because it’s his turn to be speaker, that’s it. That’s all he’s got.

If the communist left storms the capitol, can we spend the next two years investigating Biden for causing the insurrection?

Listening to any of them ‘read’ their speeches is like listening to a grade school class speaking about little of what they know.
