'Bulls***': Lauren Boebert unloads on McCarthy during his plea to become speaker
Washington Examiner ^ | January 03, 2023 01:15 PM | by Misty Severi, Breaking News Reporter

Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) called a speech by Republican leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) ahead of the vote for next House speaker "bulls***" on Tuesday.

The word slipped out after McCarthy attempted to unite the party during a meeting of the House GOP conference, with Boebert muttering "this is bulls***" under her breath. A Boebert official said it was not yelled or spoken into a microphone, according to Fox News.

Rep. Bob Good (R-VA), who has vowed not to vote for McCarthy for speaker, said the whole meeting was tense and hostile.

"The meeting was very hostile, and I don’t think it did anything to persuade those who are inclined to vote against Kevin McCarthy," Good told Fox News.

He should have helped with fixing voter fraud. He would have won easily.

The Republican party hasn’t represented its voters, or America for that matter, for many, many years. It’s time that we realize that and stop pretending. I say take the party down regardless of whether there is a replacement. FORCE CHANGE!

“Fresh off her resounding .001% victory over her Democratic opponent in a Trump +10 district.”

I guess she figures this is her last term, so she has nothing to lose.

So we have had to swallow the moderate BS every time it comes up, in the Senate because of the moderate wing, but when the conservative wing goes to leverage their power its the end of the world?

Tired of this nonsense. This system has dealt with this before, it’s not the end of the world.

Lord I am about to just buy some land in the middle of nowhere and disconnect, I can’t deal with the BS anymore...

Oh no if the speaker vote doesn’t go like planned the world is going to implode....

NONSENSE.

Our entire system of government is designed that that no one person or thing can destroy it. Anyone who’s taken civic’s 101 should know this.. unfortunately we don’t teach civics in school anymore.

Fresh off her resounding .001% victory over her Democratic opponent in a Trump +10 district.

That just means the Dems failed in their attempt to steal that election. It doesn't have to do with her being a staunch conservative.

McCarthy’s path was made this difficult by the GOPe sellouts voting for the Omnibus spending bill.

Specifically it takes a majority of those present to become speaker. Assuming all 435 are there, then yes it takes 218.

The only ways Jeffries could win is if a few Republicans vote with the Dims, or if some Republicans go home and they have the vote with less than 435 present (and the majority there are Dims).

The Dems could have passed it without a single Republican vote. Why didn’t they?...................

It is the age-old dilemma of whether we are better off going along with the RINOs or risking an even bigger defeat by not doing so. The go-along view got us the Bushes, Mitt Romney and John McCain presidential nominations, anti-MAGA Jug Ears as Speaker.... and on and on. Perhaps it is time to try something different. Granted, it is a tough question and good people will differ on it.

That’s true. Not that the RATs didn’t try their best to have a successful steal.

All he has to do is agree to the conservatives very reasonable demands.

What's to prevent McCarthy from reneging on any promise he makes? The fact that he needs to be forced should tell MAGA conservatives that he cannot be trusted.

I heard that D.s and R.s are cutting deals to make Liz Cheney speaker. I’m not sure what the end game is on this one.

Judging from the last 3 dud speakers Hastert, Boehner, Ryan The Republicans need to get a clue or just admit there is a Uniparty
