Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) will vacate her congressional seat on Tuesday after becoming a wealthy woman during her six years of serving Wyoming.
Cheney, who lost her Republican primary by nearly 40 points in August, will depart Congress on January 3 and return home as a defeated 56-year-old never Trumper.
Cheney will not depart Congress empty-handed. During her six years in Congress, she has become very wealthy. Breitbart News reported in August that Cheney’s net worth ballooned from an estimated $7 million when she first took office in 2017 to possibly more than $44 million in 2020. Depending on the specifics of her latest financial disclosure form, Cheney’s net worth could have skyrocketed up to 600 percent in Congress.

Correction: she’s not “going back to Wyoming”...she barely lived there while she was serving as their only rep. She’s staying in D.C. - that’s where the money is. She’ll probably be twice as rich a year from now.

Very very few dis elected Washington royals ever ‘return home’. Some do go back to their districts to run for some other office, but most find it just too lucrative staying in Washington.

Seriously, this is exactly why we need a citizen government, not one led by people who get there, stay there, and then “retire” into lobbying or media jobs. Worse, when you spot one of them look around as their families are generally working in some other aspect of the swamp. Its a closed shop and we aint in it.
Thats why we have to rid ourselves of RINOs like McCarthy and McConnell.
Instead of representing the people they cash in from vested interests and insider stock trades.
