For me, it has to the the Police "De Do Do Do De Da Da Da".
When I first heard the song, it sounded like a nonsense lyric but upon repeated listens, I have grown to appreciate the profoundity of the song and how it perfectly ecapsulates the frenetic fast-paced world in which we live today.

Yes...but just as the weather got better for walking, I came down with the flu. Yuck.

I forgot all about John Gary. I loved his voice! He had his own TV show for a while.

I remember first hearing the explanation as to why his breathing duration was so astounding — he was a competitive underwater swimmer of some sort. Perhaps Breath-Hold dives etc. or what passed for that current sport in the 60s.

I own a 45rpm disc called “The Hard Hat Song” by the Hard Hats on the Hard Hat label, from 1970. It was inspired by a clash in New York City between anti-war protesters and construction workers in hard hats angry at them for desecrating the American flag. Unfortunately, it hasn’t yet made it to Youtube or another online source.

Harden My Heart - Quarterflash I saw Linda Ronstadt at the awesome Blossom Music Center in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio.
Quarterflash was the opening act and did "Harden My Heart" quite well...but Linda was the star of the evening wearing her "What's New" dress.

A little trivia. Back around 1972 give or take I saw a Long John baldry on the same ticket as Uriah Heep at the Orlando sports stadium.
Promoters used to put together some interesting combinations

A Hard Road by Stevie Wright, former frontman for the Easybeats
The Hard Road is the first song in this live performance. But feel free to watch the entire show.
I believe for all practical purposes this was his last live show of consequence. I think he was pretty strung out by then. But it is definitely a good show.
