The forthcoming primaries for the GOP POTUS nom will be highly interesting.

I, for one will vote for whomever wins the nom, and I'll try to get as many Citizens as I can to vote for that nom.

That said, I would be surprised if it's DJT.

In my circle of GOP fam, friends, and acquaintances, (over a dozen so far and many more to privately poll) previous Trump voters all, no one, not one, wants Trump to even stay in the race. "I just want him to go away" is the most common comment.

Trump has been unfairly set upon by Dems, deep-staters, and RINOs, that's clear.

That said, Trump was, and still is his own worst enemy. He has chosen to make himself politically toxic, and it didn't have to be that way.

The petulance, name calling, picking fights with nobodies, putting people on the defensive, the lack of tact (I'll say it again, the lack of tack) all conspire to erase the major accomplishments in the public's mind.

The Dems will run against Trump, no matter who the opponent, for ever and ever. And, while spirited debate is a good and healthy thing, nasty political infighting will sink us, and the Dems know it.

25 percent or more of the electoral base [ALL voters] are small-government Perot type voters.

If Trump woke up only a quarter of those people to the shenanigans of The Backstab Party, that's a mighty divot in the turnout of the conservative-Republican coalition.

I'm done voting for GOPee pukes.

Isn't this one of the major problems?

Spot on analysis. I’ve got several high level state political campaign managers as friends - some for over 40 years - what they feel and hear from constituents mirrors your words perfectly.

I voted for President Trump enthusiastically twice. Worked on his second run making calls and knocking on doors. Donated far above the reporting max both times.

MAGA is patriotism given an acronym- it’s not a cult. It’s time for new patriots to step up and lead. Lots of politicians thru history have had huge rallies that did not turn into stable leadership.

Of course, the idea of fair elections in the US has become a quaint memory- as long as Trump is the candidate, the DS will ensure his loss. I loathe the concept of another Biden term, but if Trump is the nominee that will indeed be the outcome. Bank in it.

IDGAF what the cultists say. The leftist system of making enough accusations to destroy a candidate has worked. Our only hope is a new candidate to show the Independents exactly how the left repeats its playbook. Those of us in here need to remember that we follow politics, but most voters do not.

THen next time you are in the carribean get a few strings of pearls and practice clutching them.

Donald Trump does not conform to status quo political technique and strategy.ANY GOPer who does will succumb to the deep state or lose the battle for freedom.Innovation is necessary. Watch it happen.

nd thats why he wins....repeatedly.

Same here. Several have said they will NOT vote for him in the general even if he wins the nomination. I will but they will not. I see no chance he can carry Arizona.

People on FR are a bit like those in NYC - “But everyone I know votes like me!” We’re an echo chamber. But Arizona, for example, is 1/3 Democrat, 1/3 Republican and 1/3 Independent. The last 1/3 is what determines who wins or loses. The Trump Slate did NOT carry independents in 2022.
