The Department of Justice is reportedly investigating an alleged hack of the cryptocurrency exchange FTX that resulted in the theft of $372 million from the firm just after it filed for bankruptcy.
New FTX CEO John J. Ray III previously stated that the firm had witnessed "unauthorized access" to its assets, prompting the DOJ inquiry, according to the Washington Examiner. The DOJ has thus far been able to freeze only a small portion of the stolen digital assets.
Ray has been a vocal critic of the company's prior management, telling Congress that the company was utterly devoid of meaningful oversight and risk-assessment safeguards to prevent its collapse.
"The issue here I was speaking to is I've never seen an utter lack of record keeping, absolutely no internal controls whatsoever," he said. "It's really unprecedented in terms of the lack of documentation."
The cryptocurrency exchange suffered a sudden collapse in November when many of its investors simultaneously attempted to withdraw their stakes from the firm, rendering it unable to fully remunerate them. Reports quickly emerged of missing assets and alleged fraud.
FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried is currently under house arrest at his parents' California home after posting assets to gain his release against a $250 million bail. He faces a litany of federal charges.
His business associates, former Alameda Research CEO Caroline Ellison and FTX cofounder Gary Wang, meanwhile have both pleaded guilty to criminal fraud charges and are cooperating with prosecutors.

Circa 1971 I lived in Venezuela for a couple of years. It was totally corrupt but capitalistic. But oddly no less corrupt than our nation today and thus lies the danger. It had the greatest living standard in South America even though corrupt. The corruption drove the Venezuelan voters to vote for Chavez a Marxist. He did win this election legitimately. All elections post this election are fraud.
Today, Venezuela is a hell hole of grief and sorrow of Marxism.
There is a bridge between Venezuela and Columbia at Cucuta. I crossed it often in travels to Columbia. Back then it was just an ordinary bridge of no consequence. Of recent I have seen that bridge with pictures of just ordinary people leaving Venezuela for a better life. When a cross that bridge what the women (good women) must do to sustain their selves and children is an obscenity of circumstance. Their men do their best also. I is about survival. This is just history repeating itself.
This is not criticism of Columbia.
It is not complex. Where did the money come from and where did it go? Of this we do not know.
Of more importance does our Justice Department want to know the answer? To save you these ponders, they do not! When you are in bed with a whore it is difficult to explain to your wife.
Again, my apologizes to working ladies who earn an honest living. To compare them to the justice department is a true insult to their honest capitalist endeavors.

That’s certainly possible, considering how much we’re seeing. However, it’s also possible we’ve just never been so aware of it before, as alternative media and communications have helped lift the veil.
Either way, what matters now is how people respond to the evil that’s been exposed. Will they actually stand up and do something, themselves, or just place all their hope in others, like Trump, or Q, etc, that may not actually be who or what they think they are.
As a young man, I was told by a small town preacher to not trust anyone on TV, no matter how good they may appear. To get there, he believed, they had to have sold their soul in one way or another. He didn’t speak this in front of everyone, but only privately to me during a deep discussion of the world and its ways.
i didn’t believe him, at the time, and even told him it was too much to accept. I rarely thought of it, even, for many years. Until about the time the W presidency started coming to an end. I started to see things differently. Now, I often wonder if that preacher was right.

Commit a crime, then investigate the people who didn’t do it!
If they stole any bitcoin you can trace once it resurfaces. There is no way to spend stolen bitcoin without it being discovered in the blockchain.
