(Reuters) -Moscow's proposals for settlement in Ukraine are well known to Kyiv and either Ukraine fulfils them for their own good or the Russian army will decide the issue, TASS agency quoted Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov as saying.
"Our proposals for the demilitarization and denazification of the territories controlled by the regime, the elimination of threats to Russia's security emanating from there, including our new lands, are well known to the enemy," the state news agency quoted Lavrov as saying late on Monday.
"The point is simple: Fulfil them for your own good. Otherwise, the issue will be decided by the Russian army."....

“Link please, specifically when Russia voted for it in the Security Council. If you cannot find that link, it’s because it didn’t happen.”
I addressed it in another post. Read up on USSC 1244, from 1999. It established Kosovar autonomy; Kosovo later, in 2008, declared independence.

Yep, your standing is then:
1) bomb the crap out of a country
2) go to UN to get the outcome approved
3) then claim the UN authorized the bombing
Seems like Russia is following the same playbook - so far they’re at #1.
Ukrainian drones drop bombs on unsuspecting Russian soldiers in frozen trenches
Yes, 25 years later minimum
No deflection at all.
You just don’t understand logic and reason.
Your Tu Quoque fallacy is, in simple terms, “But you did it, too!” So, you see, you did not disagree with my position at all; rather, YOU sought to deflect it by saying that the United States “does it, too!” That is an admittance on your part that my comment was true and accurate, REGARDLESS whether or not someone else also fit the bill.
You need to go back to school, son.
No… they’ll get plenty of international help in that regard and they’ll be back up in short order, despite the efforts of that diminutive KGB thug in the Kremlin. No worries.
“So by that standard, LOL, Russia’s attack on Ukraine is authorized by the UN, since the Security Council has never voted to condemn it.”
Nonsense. The Security Council DID vote to condemn Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, and by a wide margin, with eleven “AYE” votes and three abstentions (China, India, and the Arab Emirates) and one “NAY” vote (Russia). So, Russia, by virtue of its position as a permanent member of the Security Council, vetoed it. It’s similar to Congress passing a bill (voting for it) and the president vetoing it; the difference is that in the UNSC any veto tables the matter, whereas in our system of government Congress can override the veto. If the UNSC had our system of checks and balances, the measure would have passed (11 out of 15 is one more than the 2/3 required to override the veto).
Sorry but UN has no authority to arbitrarily partition any state
Cutting off the Kerch strait bridge and other supply routes and cutting the water supply would put Russian forces in Crimea in a severe bind. Of necessity, relief or evacuation of Crimea would then become the focus of Russia’s military effort in the region. In effect, Russia would be forced to take offensive action on unfavorable terms, just as Nazi Germany desperately tried to relieve its troops in Stalingrad when they were surrounded.
“Nonsense. The Security Council DID vote to condemn Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, and by a wide margin, with eleven “AYE” votes and three abstentions (China, India, and the Arab Emirates) and one “NAY” vote (Russia).”
Sorry, Russia is a PERMANENT MEMBER of the Security Council and they VETOED the resolution, so it NEVER PASSED...the Security Council NEVER condemned Russia.
Did you REALLY think you could put that one past me?
“Kosovo was annexed from another country to place NATO power and influence closer to Russia.”
Strictly speaking, annexation is taking something and making it one’s own. No one actually “annexed” Kosovo and made it its own. NATO didn’t annex Kosovo and make it a NATO member. However, the UN established the framework for Kosovar autonomy, which later encouraged Kosovo to declare its independence from Serbia in 2008.
As for NATO and its proximity to Russia, there were several countries much closer to Russia that were already in NATO (for instance, Turkey and Norway actually shared borders with Russia) or which had been invited to become NATO members (for instance, Poland, Hungary, and the Czech Republic) years before any NATO action vis-a-vis Kosovo. Thus, your argument in that regard is bogus.
“YOU sought to deflect it by saying that the United States “does it, too!””
No deflection intended - I just don’t see why Russia should be held to a different standard than NATO.
A distinction without a difference. Another western military grab to encroach on Russias borders.
I had heard this sequence before. And, she is right.
The Russian “negotiation” style is thus:
1) Demand the maximum;
2) Present ultimatums (i.e., threats);
3) Never give an inch.
It was the standard during the days of the Soviet Union and is the standard today with Russia.
“Here you go, Comrade Bob!”
Again, please refrain from the name calling, as it is AGAINST THE RULES.
This is now the third time I’ve had to report you.
“Also to give Islam a foothold in Europe.”
Yes; that, too.
“Yep, your standing is then: 1) bomb the crap out of a country; 2) go to UN to get the outcome approved; 3) then claim the UN authorized the bombing. Seems like Russia is following the same playbook - so far they’re at #1.”
Please explain what you mean by my “standing.” Is it your conclusion that such actions meet my approval?
"I know, Karen, that spanking is VIOLENCE. We’re used to you gals,"
You better tattle on yourself first, Comrade Bob, since you have said, far, far worse over these past months than I have. Your posting history is full of vile insults and invective, but yet here you are, running to mommy over a mild descriptor that's entirely appropriate.
Here's some FRee advice...can't take the heat then get out of the ktichen.
“Sorry but UN has no authority to arbitrarily partition any state.”
Want to bet? For instance, read up on UN Partition Plan 181.
Lol - so if several states gang up on one state that makes it “legal”? Fk the UN. You are a globalist.
