Nearly every adult ICU bed in Oregon is occupied, driven by an uptick in respiratory viruses. Portland-area hospitals are operating at a “crisis” level for the first time since the coronavirus pandemic began. The dire picture has prompted state health officials to implore people to slap their masks on, once again, to protect against a triple threat of covid, flu and RSV as people travel and gather indoors this holiday season.
But like nearly every community confronting a third pandemic winter, the entreaty is just that — a plea. Not a mandate. Health officials in a state that was among the last to end an indoor mask requirement in March now characterize mandates as a distraction. Instead, they are counting on Americans to voluntarily don one of the most effective tools for avoiding sickness.

A BS statement. Hospitals are like hotels, they do not make money off empty beds. And, just like hotels, they have staff that work hard to fill those beds.

BS! The wife is a nurse in Oregon. Her area has around 50 beds, and currently, they have *1* COVID case.
The times I used a mask in a dusty work environment..the dust was always trapped on the inside and not the outside.
Plenty of vit C, D and zinc on an ongoing basis.
Ivermectin prophylaxis. In fact, I think I’m due.
I dislike mask mandates even more than vax mandates. And least a vax mandate is generally one and done (now that gov’ts have given up on mandating boosters).
I can’t breathe in masks at all, they are hot, they don’t work, and mask mandates are destructive to deaf people, kids, and teens (speech, learning a foreign language, socializing, self esteem) in ways we haven’t even started to fathom (some of us with kids and teens have). Even to college students—imagine trying to learn college Calculus from a professor with a thick accent AND a mask. Imagine trying to learn AP Spanish when both the student and teacher are masked.
And I hate mandates and enjoy freedom, including the freedom to breathe and be seen. And it’s all so senseless—if mask mandates worked, they would work. And they don’t. I hate that medical facilities still mandate them. . .thankfully my dentist has come to his senses.
Let them be optional.
There's no valid test for Covid, still, so they can't really say that Covid is resurging. A side-effect of coronavirus 'vaccines' is enhanced illness - those vaccinated can become more severely ill as a result of having been 'vaccinated'.
In the News/Activism forum, on a thread titled As the flu surges, Congress must act, ransomnote wrote: Increased severity of illness is associated with ADE, a side-effect of coronavirus vaccines documented in many years of study. Before the truth started leaking out, back when the talking heads were still saying it was a 'pandemic of the unvaccinated', a doctor posted online that the Covid-19 'vaccines' were safe because illness was not made more severe. He was wrong of course, but here's the post from July 2021:

This is false information; it was never the unvaccinated experiencing excessive impacts of Covid or any other respiratory illness. By now too much information has made it to the public sphere to continue this 'big lie', unless you're the head of the CDC, or the deposed Fauci, in which case they just keep saying the same false statements.
Those who do experience the ADE side-effect now, as a result of the Covid 'vaccine,' are expected to experience more severe disease and it will be clinically indistinguishable from ordinary Covid or influenza - same symptoms only more severe.
With significant numbers of people experiencing this known side-effect of Coronavirus vaccines, ADE will be hidden as it is diagnosed as influenza and/or Covid (the media is also calling it a tri-demic) and this bait-and-switch will be used to push vaccines on people. They will claim the ADE side-effects are actually some virulent strain of either Covid or Influenza and try to force the public to receive yet more 'vaccines' and likely tell the public the unvaccinated are again driving the pandemic.
Note: There's no test that accurately diagnoses Covid because they based the test on the influenza vaccine, even the CDC admitted to that. Also, the PCR test is not a diagnostic tool according to its inventor. So why use an invalid test, and why use it to test for Covid anymore?
Mask mandates will never go away in certain parts of the country, despite what WaPo says. The City of Oakland has reinstated mask mandates for employees, offices, libraries, etc. I fully expect the county of Alameda to follow suit any moment.
All it takes is for the right people complain to the right people.
It’s not bed availability. It’s staffing. Across the board.
When I see 4 names on the byline I know the BS train has been boarded and is headed our way.
