U.S. Capitol Police Officer Caroline Edwards said in a new op-ed that it “physically hurts” to talk about the Capitol riot, adding that the House Jan. 6 select committee issuing its report this week represents “nothing final.”
Edwards, who was injured in the attack last year and testified publicly this summer before the House panel, said in The New York Times that it could take years for her and other officers to find peace after being traumatized during the rioting.
“Many Americans think that the saga of the Capitol riot will soon be at its end,” Edwards said in the op-ed.
“For two years, this country has endured an impeachment, lawsuits, criminal investigations, congressional hearings, televised theater,” she continued. “And this week, Congress will release its final report. But there is nothing final about this moment. A funeral doesn’t put an end to your grief. The trauma cannot be bookended by paperwork. These scars cannot be masked with fine print, debated in committee.”

The headline shows the problem: it doesn’t physically hurt this person to talk about it. Therefore, she is revealed to be a liar. Everyone can see it; nobody believes that she experiences physical pain from this. These people are in charge, and they face zero opposition.
If the protestors were democrats and one was shot through the neck, the Capitol would have been destroyed, and with the approval of the Jan. 6 Committee.
My feeling is she really is just mentally weak and shouldnt have never been an officer to begin with. Im sure knows someone who knows someone who opened the door to this career.

Their actions harmed many people physically for no benefit, and gave the Left a weapon to attack conservatives with. The Officer can thank Nancy Pelosi for deliberately preventing mobilization of adequate security, and leftists like the “tower commander” for transforming a protest into a riot. The injured officer should demand a real investgation into how this mess came to be, the government’s operatives and agents provocateur, the fake bombs, etc.

These people don’t strike me as very tough cops. Are Capitol Police positions some kind of political sinecure jobs?
Hi kristinn, nice to hear from you, and I could not be more in agreement.
All the years I was involved (probably around ten years or so) I never saw anything like that, never. Ever. I recall consideration for law enforcement, and we even policed the grounds when everything was over. I recall one of the Tea Party rallies down there where trash and signs were heaped next to the overflowing trash receptacles.
I have been of the opinion that this was caused by Antifa/FBI provocateurs, and with the revelation of the fake pipe bombs at the DNC and RNC and such, that conviction has only become stronger with time.

Yep. She was unarmed and shot by a police officer. He was given a medal for her murder. If any lesson is to be learned here, it’s don’t go do the job haphazardly.
