Starting next July, Connecticut will become one of the first states in America to mandate climate change studies across its public schools as part of its science curriculum.
The new law passed earlier this year comes as part of the state’s attempts to address concerns over the short duration – and in some cases, absence – of climate change studies in classrooms. The requirement follows in the footsteps of New Jersey, which in 2020 became the first state to mandate K-12 climate change education across its school districts.
“The conservative turn in our country … often starts at a very hyper-local level of local town boards of education. There is this push towards anti-intellectualism, anti-science … anti-reason, and I didn’t want local boards of education to have the power to overturn the curriculum and say, ‘climate change is too political,’” Connecticut state representative Christine Palm told the Guardian.
With less than a year left until climate change education is integrated across all of Connecticut’s public schools, lawmakers such as Palm are well-aware of the pushback that such a mandate will receive.
Palm said she tends to not get involved in matters involving local boards of education. However, she has in recent years noticed the impact of parents pushing back against educators over certain subjects such as LGBTQ+ rights, slavery and the climate crisis.
“In my experience, at least traditionally, [local boards of education] have been extremely bipartisan, hardworking and thoughtful administrators … [but] increasingly, that’s being affected by these vigilante groups of parents coming in and saying … they don’t want kids learning about [these subjects] because it’s too threatening to their delusional way of life,” said Palm.
“We absolutely have got to face it head on, and it starts when children are very young.”

“There is zero reason to try logic and science on a 12 year old girl.”
Still, it would be nice to have books, videos available that kids would understand. Maybe get them before they’re 11 and get them grounded before they turn in to monsters for a few years.
I’m sure some here could give you better direction.

Will they teach there has been no warming in thirteen years
Earth has warmed 0.4 C in 30 years
Science fiction in science class. Science!
It is idol worship, plain and simple. Building a temple to the Goddess ‘Gaia’ in the hopes of something (like less crops due to forced cold). Then they can build a temple to the ‘crop’ god ‘Ceres’. Once you accept other gods, it never stops. The ancient Romans had hundreds (or maybe thousands). Our learned Communist oligarchs are trying to reinstitute the worship.
For many decades now, the goal of public schools has been to indoctrinate students and keep them ignorant.
By keeping them ignorant, they will be dependent on the govt and will always vote for the dims.
This is just another way for the dims to groom future voters.
The FAKE SCIENCE that is so “wildly popular” among the Snowflakes, Twinkies and their princesses.
You know it’s propaganda because they only present one point of view.
Eventually this will backfire— whether it will matter by that time is anyone’s guess
I would be home schooling my kids or ordering a moving van from Allied.
HOW much Climate Change was there after KRAKATOA blew up???
Please write me out a long dissertation on how humans could have stopped that !!!!!!
There has been some warming, but these climate change (global warming) advocates see everything as one absolute, black and white, and not shades of gray.
Along with some warming in northern regions, there is cooling in southern regions, and not equally dispersed on Earth. Glaciers grow in some places, while shrinking in other places. CO2 grows after warming periods by the Sun, and gradually shrinks when absorbed by the oceans. Just as it has over millennia on Earth. But the idiot teachers in schools don't teach facts.
Time to leave it behind
