Indict Jack Dorsey? Former Twitter CEO's potential legal liability after congressional testimony
Fox News ^ | December 11, 2022 10:06am EST | Jonathan Turley

The latest Tw.itter disclosures have raised potential legal liability for Twitter and its executives. No one appears more at risk than Twitter’s former CEO Jack Dorsey

It is an ironic turn of events since Dorsey supported the takeover by Elon Musk and has called for all files to be released without filtering. Dorsey has the feel of a "designated defendant," someone who was pushed forward by others to take any legal hit.

On its face, Dorsey has vulnerability after the latest release. He was repeatedly asked by members of Congress about censoring and shadow-banning, which has now been confirmed in these files.

In September 2018, Dorsey testified under oath and denied what these files appear to now confirm. Rep. Mike Doyle, D., Pa., asked, "Social media is being rigged to censor conservatives. Is that true of Twitter?"

"No," Dorsey said.

"Twitter’s shadow-banning prominent Republicans… is that true?" Doyle asked.

Dorsey again said no.

Dorsey was also asked about my prior testimony on private censorship in circumventing the First Amendment as a type of censorship by surrogate. Dorsey and the other CEOs were asked about my warning of a "‘little brother’ problem, a problem which private entities do for the government that which it cannot legally do for itself." In response, Dorsey insisted that "we don’t have a censoring department."

What is the legal liability of any of the former twitter heads? Since it is a private company can’t they lie cheat etc all they want?

The FJB administration has ordered the DOJ to be on standby to announce that “no reasonable prosecutor” . . .

Dorsey is probably chilling in St. Barts, tripping on acid and hanging with spider monkeys...

Doesn’t a lot of this all go back to Section 230, or whatever that is?

The thing that Pres Trump wanted rescinded and of course, the POSs in Congress blocked.

That same President that banned TikTok because he knew what they were doing and now they all want to make it out like it’s some new revelation.

Quite frankly, unless there is demonstrable proof that your current Representative, on any level, or Senator has done the job they campaigned on doing, if you continue to vote for the incumbent then you are 100% responsible for the problems....ie, every voter in SC that voted to keep Graham, Scott and Mace in DC.

NO ONE will face repercussions for anything that goes against any leftist politicians or tech executives in this country. Folks should be disgusted, but have no expectations that justice will be done.

For the next two years Garland will turn a blind eye to it all. Congress will hold meaningless hearings and any referrals from them will get circular filed by the DOJ, and if by any stretch the Republicans win in ‘24, they will put their tails between their legs and slink away from the problem

It’s all a fun parlor game, but no one will be punished.

If wishes were fishes...

The ONLY reason he is calling for full release is because he knows he’s busted and Elon is releasing it anyway. He wants to be able to say, why would I call for the full release if I knew I’d be prosecuted?

He’s busted and is trying to worm his way out of it. But he doesn’t have to fear as the DOJ doesn’t prosecute those that help democrats steal elections.

I was looking at an interesting conversation snippet between @jackass and Elon. Elon mentions that Twitter chiefs allowed pedo promotion to run free at Twitter. @jackass replies that is false. Elon responds back that the current head of Trust and Safety, who started earlier this year requested twice that pedo promo should be stamped out, and her requests were denied.

People are trying to make it look like these things happened without Jack knowing about it. Somehow it was the second tier execs who ran all this without Jacks permission.

Technically lying to congress is a crime (See what they did to Bannon). But only conservatives get prosecuted for lying to congress.

It's only illegal for conservatives to lie to congress. Communists can do so with impunity.

(It was a secret ruling by the Grand Marshal of the Supreme Court. I thought everyone knew.)

He testified to Congress in 2018. The internal documents that Musk recently dumped are mostly from 2020. Maybe he was telling the truth when he testified.

Spot on post.

There is no accountability, or even accountability for those who don’t enforce accountability.

Its good to be an elite in this country. Total immunity from our laws and any ethical constraints.
