California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) changed his plan for a windfall tax on oil company profits to describe the tax as a “penalty” to avoid a requirement that new taxes be passed by a two-thirds vote in the state legislature.

Oh, it is (San Ramon) but CRC is the largest and they have “transitioned” to carbon-free energy.

Chevron’s E&P has been moved to Venezuela.

And that whole “cluster” is interesting because VZA’s crude is heavy (less gasoline per barrel) and sulfurous (US refiners can’t use it).

Overall...no sympathy from me for Chevron.
Or VZA.
Or Cali.

cut all-electric lines that lead INTO California, since they pull power from other states.

Let them suffer, they voted for it.

That’s much more honest, which is rare for a democommie. Must have been an accident.

Not here in CaCaLand. Courts are also corrupted. When the same Aholes launched the BulletTrain scam there was a condition that a set % of $$ had to be invested from private sources. No where near that was achieved so folks took the issue to court. Court ruled that the condition was not important.

As to the 2/3 vote. Wut? The slave loving Democrats have had total control of the legislature for decades. It is possible that the word “tax” is being dodged to avoid companies so punished to use the stolen funds in a tax writeoff.

Oil companies need to stop selling petroleum products to the Californicators.

Also cut the interconnects to the national power grid.

Why not avoid legislation all together and make everything a penalty?

Someone needs to lock Newsom in the penalty box for a couple years. He won’t be able to sue for false imprisonment ‘cause it’s not a prison; it’s a penalty box.

Sweet. That means it’ll be tied up in court forever as the oil companies try to prove it’s a tax.
