BREAKING: Matt Taibbi Drops More Information on the 'Twitter Files' and Exposes an Attempted Cover-Up
Red State. ^ | December 06, 2022 | Bonchie

Matt Taibbi, who authored the first release of the infamous “Twitter Files,” is back for round two. Or at least he’s back to provide a supplement to round one while round two is still being worked on.

According to Taibbi, James Baker, who was general counsel for Twitter and a former top-level FBI official, inserted himself into the disclosure in an attempt to “vet” the files that were ultimately released. Elon Musk was not notified of Baker playing middle-man.

As RedState reported, Baker was fired on Tuesday, and with Taibbi’s latest thread, we now know why. I normally try to not flood my articles with long strings of multiple tweets in a row, but it’s important to get all the information out there.

...

On Friday, the first installment of the Twitter files was published here. We expected to publish more over the weekend. Many wondered why there was a delay.

We can now tell you part of the reason why. On Tuesday, Twitter Deputy General Counsel (and former FBI General Counsel) Jim Baker was fired. Among the reasons? Vetting the first batch of “Twitter Files” – without knowledge of new management.

The process for producing the “Twitter Files” involved delivery to two journalists (Bari Weiss and me) via a lawyer close to new management. However, after the initial batch, things became complicated.

Over the weekend, while we both dealt with obstacles to new searches, it was Bari Weiss who discovered that the person in charge of releasing the files was someone named Jim. When she called to ask “Jim’s” last name, the answer came back: “Jim Baker.”

My jaw hit the floor,” says Weiss.

The first batch of files both reporters received was marked, “Spectra Baker Emails.”

Baker is a controversial figure. He has been something of a Zelig of FBI controversies dating back to 2016, from the Steele Dossier to the Alfa-Server mess. He resigned in 2018 after an investigation into leaks to the press.

The news that Baker was reviewing the “Twitter files” surprised everyone involved, to say the least. New Twitter chief Elon Musk acted quickly to “exit” Baker Tuesday.

Reporters resumed searches through Twitter Files material – a lot of it – today. The next installment of “The Twitter Files” will appear bari Weiss. . Stay tuned.

...

As Taibbi notes, the next installment of the “Twitter Files” is being led by controversial (as in she makes the right people upset) reporter Bari Weiss. Apparently, while she was working on her part of the effort, she discovered that someone on the backend was curating what was being released. When she inquired about who it was, she discovered it was none other than James Baker.

Baker is a name many people who read RedState will likely recall. He was at the center of the Steele Dossier and was part of the FBI regime that tried to bring down Donald Trump via the “Russian collusion” hoax. Naturally, he left that post to take a high-paying job as chief counsel for Twitter because government hacks who toe the line always have a path to the private sector.

It appears that Baker was trying to mitigate the damage of the “Twitter Files” with some kind of attempted cover-up. According to Musk, his explanation wasn’t satisfactory, and that led to his ouster. With Baker gone, the release of the files should now continue unabated. I have a feeling Weiss is going to produce something really good with her research.

Whatever "coverup(s)" are referenced, are definitely not "attempted." The 2020 election is the greatest fraud; the greatest theft of an entire country; the greatest destruction of an entire way of life in the history of the world.

I don't want to say we'll never recover but, we'll never recover. We might "adapt", but it'll never be the same. We'll never get rid of these tens of millions illiterate, stone aged, criminally inclined wetbacks, for example.

I’m a little skeptical about Bari Weis....she tweeted the other day about a former president having dinner with Ye (with a clip of Ye and his new diatribe on Hitler) and we should all think about THAT.

I found this very shallow and misleading. To call President Trump an anti-semite because he answered a call and invited someone he knew over to dinner. Ye hasn’t been on these rants for long - we would have heard about it a long time ago. This Hitler insanity is new, and everyone is saying that Ye is off his meds, needs help, etc. Even President Trump said it. It is dirty to try and use this even to paint the president this way. McConnell and a few other swamp dwellers did this as well. Shame on them all.

Fire Baker. Musk out to sue him for conspiracy to sabotage his company along with his co-conspirators Gadde, the FBI and the agents who were communicating with Baker. $20 B + punitive damages would be a good place to start.

Just a question for you hypocrite Democrats. The fact that you are ignoring and diminishing this horrendous injustice means that you support it.

And.... that you are okay with our side doing too. So all bets are off, correct?

That is the game, now we know the rules. Oh, and don't whine like babies when it happens to your side.

Folks, we have learned that anything goes with these people. And we probably can't win with the enemy lying cheating and stealing. Most importantly, when the corruption is made public, the collaborators cover it up or pretend that they don't care. And apparently the public doesn't care either.

We republicans and conservatives need to realize that we are
in a war ultimately for our lives and our freedom.

The only other option is to look to God for direction.

People can tweet or say what they want. That’s the point.

Let’s see the damning evidence of FBI involvement and let’s get Jim Jordan to investigate and make criminal referrals even though they may sit until we get a decent GOP President and AG.

You may buy the house, but if you don’t eliminate the rodents, you suffer the consequences.

Hopefully Musk was ahead of the game in that he figured Baker would do this and it gave him the perfect opportunity to expose that before he fired him...

America wake up. The Government trained people the likes of Baker are not our friends....

Well said, no way I’ll ever recover, even if the country does, which I doubt.

it’s like watching a train crash in slow motion and we are helpless, all by design. The bitter fruits of what these criminals have sowed has been a slow poison. Go through any suburb in this country and people are still surviving ‘enough’ not to feel like they have to march in the streets. We are all so busy with our established lives, paying mortgages, running businesses, raising kids, etc. For the most part the inconveniences that are beginning to show up in the first wave of their attack are still not inconvenient enough to cause us to put our careers and family second to saving the country and our existence. If there is any flaw in captitalism it’s that the security and prosperity it creates leads to complacency.
I become a grandpa this month and I fear for her future.

And the left just laughs and laughs...they have the country and world spinning around their little finger and they know there is NOTHING anyone can do about it, they have control in all the right places and the first one to openly revolt, to use weapons against Libs, loses..game over.

Bingo, no more sitting on principle. Do to the Dems what they have no problem doing to anyone they detest.

The debacle of awarding high honors to the Capitol police strikes of in your face partisan actions.

The fact that the awardees only shook hands with the Dems, and not the Pubs shows whose side they are on, and that they know that they will face no consequence for

Letting people in

Shooting an unarmed women

Possibly knowing the FBI was involed in the charade

Knowing Trump had offered protection but it was denied by Pelosi.

Trump is not afraid to call them out. The rest of our congress reps need to follow his lead....

This is fascism, folks.

No different than what happened in Germany in the 1930s.

Loyal party members embedded into companies and media to suppress anti-party information and promote pro-party information.

China does this as well. When China ended its requirement for manufacturing to be a 50-50 joint venture, it created a requirement that a CCP party leader be put on your board of directors instead if you want to have a business in China.
