Once again, Donald Trump has proposed dismantling the United States Constitution. “Do you throw the Presidential Election Results of 2020 OUT and declare the RIGHTFUL WINNER, or do you have a NEW ELECTION?” Trump asked on TruthSocial Saturday. “A Massive Fraud of this type and magnitude allows for the termination of all rules, regulations, and articles, even those found in the Constitution.”
The answer to Trump’s question is “neither.” The response to his declaration is, “No, it does not.” The conclusion one must draw is that the 45th president of the United States has lost whatever was left of his mind.
That Trump probably cannot achieve his stated aims here remains spectacularly beside the point. During the closing days of the 2020 election, I wrote repeatedly about the seriousness of Joe Biden’s refusal to reject his party’s growing demand to “pack” — i.e. destroy — the United States Supreme Court. Not once did I receive an email from a Trump voter telling me that my alarm was misplaced on the grounds that, in all likelihood, Biden would not have the votes to do it. Back then — and rightly so — the mere fact that Biden was entertaining the idea was deemed instructive: “When people tell you what they want to do with power,” my correspondents invariably opined, “you should believe them. Joe Biden cannot be trusted with power.”
Well, so it is with Donald Trump once again. When Trump declared his 2024 candidacy last month, he implicitly asked us to judge him and his plans for the country, and, eventually, to compare those plans to those that are on offer from other hopefuls. And so we must — including when he talks about the election of 2020.

I agree.
The article opens with a bald faced lie.🤮
Actually there is, but no one has the gumption to use it.🤨
So who is joining your coup to get this new election? Secret Service guy on the inside? Rogue Marine division? Golf cart brigade at The Villages?
Be careful what you wish for,you might get it good and hard.🙄
Start the clock until Trumpye’s next dramatically stupid, totally avoidable, self-own.
No! They’re not.🤮
What are you talking about?
There IS a constitutional remedy,if the people would use it.🤔
Jacquerie wrote: “Our Framers ensconced that right in Article V. It is past time to do an end run around our masters, the DC oligarchs. Article V COS.”
Exactly what would you expect to come from an Article V COS?
At least half the delegates would be liberal/progressives pushing for all sorts of mischief, abolishing the 2nd ammendment for sure, presidential elections determined purely by majority vote, etc., etc.
Remember Obama said the problem with our Constitution was that it was merely “a charter of negative liberties. Says what the federal government can’t do to you but doesn’t say what the federal government or state government must do on your behalf.” Obama believes—that changing this is the way to bring about “redistributive change.”
Do you really believe you can control such a monster?

The only Constitutional rememedy would be Biden/Harris impeachment in the house and removal from office upon conviction in the senate. Of course, then you’ll have all sorts of mischief in the selection of their replacements. Hillary? Warren? Bernie?
Perhaps it would be better to just hamstring Biden with control of the house and the nomination of a republican who can win in 2024.
Delaware was the first State to ratify, on December 7, 1787.
After New Hampshire became the ninth State to ratify, on June
22, 1788, the Confederation Congress established March 9, 1789
as the date to begin operating under the Constitution.
Yes there is! The remedy is a convention of the states. The states can dissolve this govt. They could then appoint trustees over various depts, appoint a temporary commander in chief, and order new elections, or any other solutions which would resolve this. The states have the power to do whatever needs to be done to right the ship of state. We are now at the point where whatever risks there may be are worth taking.
Our country was in a crisis in 1776, and our forefathers (and foremothers) stepped forward and did what needed to be done so that we could be a free independent nation, ruling ourselves rather than being ruled by a foreign despot. But now, again, we are at a crisis point. The question is, do we follow their example and do whatever needs to be done to restore our constitutional republic, using the mechanism given to us by our sacred constitution, or do we submit to thi tyranny?
If we are such cowards, then let us be damned and condemned by our children and our children’s children, for we have selfishly and carelessly thrown away their birthright for the sake of personal comfort and the deadly sin of sloth.
WTH is wrong with you? Has TDS rotted your brain? You got screw worm issues? Too many clot shots? How daft do you have to be to call what's being discussed here a coup? Are you Biden or just one of his trolls?
Where in the constitution does it say my remedy is unconstitutional?
Reserved for the people... and to the states... unstick your head from the sand...
I quoted the section... you deny it is there... but it is.
True, but he’s always done that. And one of the things that enabled him to get in and make an impression was that he talked like a New Yorker and sometimes was over the top.
But that was then and this is now, and I’d like to see a little more substance and a little less personality.
Yet...sometimes personality wins the game. Or loses it. You never know.
I am male, if you are wondering.
How would Trump accomplish a suspension or termination of the constitution?
Answer: He couldn’t even if he wanted to.
Just the usual lies from NR.
