On Wednesday, a federal court gave approval to a plan by the city of Minneapolis, Minnesota to reward 12 Black Lives Matter rioters with a collective total of $600,000 over injuries they sustained during said riots.
The Daily Caller reports that the court’s decision settled a lawsuit originally filed by the far-left American Civil Liberties Union of Minnesota (ACLU-MN) on behalf of the rioters, and subsequently forbids the city of Minneapolis from using force to suppress violent riots. The injunction by the Minnesota U.S. District Court also forces all Minneapolis police officers who are deployed to riots to wear body-cameras, and limits the police force’s use of chemical agents for dispelling riots.
“Tear gas, foam bullets and pepper spray became weapons for intimidating and hurting protesters, making it dangerous for people to exercise their First Amendment rights,” ACLU-MN Legal Director Teresa Nelson falsely declared. “We hope this settlement sends a message to law enforcement across Minnesota that this violation of our constitutional rights will not be tolerated.”

need to make a shirt out of that!
This should clearly demonstrate who owns the “justice” system in this country.
This is becoming ridiculous. It will not fix itself.
“US Constitution”
We’re not using that document for anything anymore, clearly.
The crooks go where the money is most concentrated. Then, we become surprised when the thieves start winning elections there. Then they start voting such that the amount of money they have access to grows and grows! And they keep winning elections by larger margins! And the wealth drain starts to be noticeable! But they still win elections!
Hmmmm. I wonder what could be going on here? This is a mystery.
I have a suspicion that, at the end of the day, all of this is about collapsing property values so that they can be scooped up for pennies on the dollar.
” this violation of our constitutional rights”
My pocket copy of the Constitution seems to have left out the “right to riot and cause extensive property damage”. I’ll have to dig out the master copy, I guess.
Minnesota politicians are not equipped (in their head) to negotiate a settlement with rioters they are really in support of AND Minnesota courts (judges), staffed by Liberals/Marxists, are not equipped (in their heads) to “approve” a SETTLEMENT like this palsy walsy robbery of $600,000.00 of Minnesota taxpayers hard earned money.
What should happen is legislation granting ANY citizen or group of citizens “standing” to sue participants in a major riot AND THEIR SUPPORTING POLITICIANS. There should be a limit of 100 billion dollars on any judgment won by such “citizen” litigants. Tom Fitton can’t file all the lawsuits that need to be filed.
Are you saying that the people in jail right now we’re not Trump supporters? That would be a big surprise to practically everybody.
The ones in jail are not the ones organizing and damaging the Capital. Those were Antifa and organizers.
Oh ok. Hopefully the house will do a total investigation and get those ones in jail.
What the hell is wrong with these people?
Not a nickle to the businesses they destroyed or vandalized.
Same thing just happened in Portland. Police were sued for riot control methods. Jury awarded the Anti people $$ and restrictions on how the police can try to control mobs.
Ain’t it sweet?
You mean the police who fired down into a crowd with flash bangs and other weapons?
Puh-lease. Wrong paint job.
