A pair of masked bandits are still at large after brazenly robbing a California Apple store in broad daylight on Black Friday, and video of the incident has gone viral showing staff watching on and warning customers against intervening as the thieves made away with tens of thousands of dollars in loot.

The footage taken from inside Apple's flagship Palo Alto location shows the two suspects ripping iPhones from display tables and stuffing them into backpacks as dozens of shoppers looked on.

Employees can be heard telling customers, "You gotta back up, man," and "Let 'em go," deterring anyone from confronting the thieves. One onlooker can be heard asking, "Yo, should we stop 'em?"

According to Palo Alto Online, police are still searching for the perpetrators, who made away with $35,000 in merchandise.

Only in Kalifornia do the sales staff assist the looters by shooing paying customers aside to clear a path for the perps.

This would never happen in Texas. The perps would be shot by a good guy with a gun.

This is Apple, and they know the SN’s.
So the thieves should only have a lot of bricked junk.
What is a bricked device worth, a couple bucks each for salvageable parts?

Are these the same sort of people the Governor wants to give reparations to?

Cellphones are tracked from the time they are shipped to when they are activated and can be shut off remotely.

It's OK. Apple customers are used to paying too much. Their extra "donation" helps to cover shrinkage subsidize Apple products for Negro unfortunates who loot Apple stores. No worries.

As soon as they power on one device, their exact location will be known. In fact, their whole trip from the store may already be logged. Old days had to sneak a dye pack in their bag, now just need an AirTag (or almost any other Apple device). The store personnel understand what those devices are capable of. Soon we will know their stash location and probably find lots of other stolen stuff. Employee theft is huge issue, but rarely do you hear of it at Apple stores… hmmm

It would seem setting up the iPads or phones, etc…that they could be traced.

#2 There was a cell phone store in a strip mall in Los Angeles several years ago that did over $20 million in stolen phones. They used phone company employees access to re-activate the phones then sell them.

Why should anyone feel obligated to pay for any Apple products?

Seriously.

What you pay covers what thieves steal. Why am I paying for what Apple allows thieves to steal?

No - do not take this joint away from me!

I love this store [Buc-ee's]!

Me too! - and even though I don't have a gun, everyone else in there does!

Right! No one's gonna rob this place!

I feel safe!

California Apple store ransacked by thieves as staff warn customers not to stop them

Needless to say, this will only ENCOURAGE looters in the future.

Eventually they will KILL or MAIM someone intentionally because they feel there will be NO retribution.

Reminder to Apple... "You REAP What You Sow!"

I observed the Apple store in Greensboro, NC had a police car, with an officer inside, sitting in the parking space directly in front of the door to the store on Thursday from before opening to at least 1:00 pm when I left the shopping center where the store is located. The store has been robbed in the past. Could Apple be paying an off duty policeman to guard some stores?

.... I’m sure that the minute they turn their new devices, the second they hit the net, theirocation is know.

What they have is a stack of parts.

Not a dream stash of cash.

Correct. From a friend at Apple when I sent this to him a couple days ago:

“It’s such a stupid theft because they’re gonna get pennies on the dollar for the phones because they’re all locked”

“It’s such a stupid theft because they’re gonna get pennies on the dollar for the phones because they’re all locked”

And once they realize this their lack of impulse control will result in something violent.

Phones, iPad, macbooks... Any thing that can go on the net gets identified and located instantly. Good way to find the perps warehouse.

The parts are quite valuable, actually. All of the devices will be parted out.
