Top Senate Republican: Slash Social Security Or We'll Wreck US Economy
The National Memo ^ | 12/1/22 | Emily Singer

Posted on 12/01/2022 4:12:57 AM PST by JonPreston

Sen. John Thune of South Dakota, the number two Republican in the U.S. Senate, said on Tuesday that the GOP plans to use the debt ceiling as leverage to make cuts to Social Security and other social safety net programs.

"There's a set of solutions there that we really need to take on if we're going to get serious about making these programs sustainable and getting this debt bomb at a manageable level before it's too late," Thune said in an interview with Bloomberg News, adding that raising the retirement age is one of the solutions Republicans want to explore.

The money we sent to Ukraine probably could have been used to help this problem.

Complete Leftist propaganda.

The title should be: Thune proposes method to save the economy; leftist refuse to cooperate.

So you believe Thune is a champion of America’s middle class?

As we learn from what happened in Hong kong, to control the people you don’t need to choose who wins. You only need to control who are the final candidates.

The people are like a little kid who wants bedtime to be 9:00. But he has to choose between mom who says 7, and dad who says 7:15. That’s not a choice. It’s only the illusion of choice. And frankly, we’ve been living under that for about the last 22 years.

Like Claire wolf said, don’t vote. It only encourages them. It is pretty clear at this point that our problems are not going to be solved by the ballot box.

“You know how many times a year I get U.S. Treasury checks in my mail box addressed to my illegal alien Mexican neighbors?!?”

Why is our government sending checks to these people?

I suggest this piece of shat cut all the free money to Ukraine and welfare first. They could also give back all the kickbacks they have gotten for betraying the American people.

I am done voting for republicans or democrats. Both are the same and RINOs may be worse than all of them.

And they never, ever mention the millions of illegal aliens pouring in.

They want illegals, they don't want us.

On the other hand, there is plenty of money for Welfare, the Military Industrial Complex, and Green Energy.

Most of the deficit problem is with the CMS agency in the HHS department. That’s where the primary focus should be. But, yes Social Security is part of the problem. It’s the math :(

Remove/eliminate the taxable maximum for contributions to Social Security which is set at $160,000 for this year. I see no problem with that at all! If you have taxable income you should PAY!

This isn’t so much because they don’t want to win, even their corporate donors expect them to produce a payday, but they have to wrestle control of the party away from Trump so this is to establish the narrative, after Walker loses, that he was a “bad candidate,” and Trump can no longer win. We need to move on from Trump and get back to Rino control of the party. As for me, I am a solid never rino Republican.

I am married to the Mexican culture and am a FLUENT bilingual. Therefore, I hear and learn about things most of you folks will never know. You do not know HOW correct you are about the statement above. Very few people listen to what I have to say or write.
