Snowfall across Ukraine is signaling the official arrival of winter, setting up a dangerous chapter in the war with Russia as Moscow targets Ukraine’s power and energy supplies to deprive the country of heat and electricity.

Anna Grigolaya, the operations manager in the city of Dnipro for the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee (JDC), said the situation will be critical for millions of Ukrainians suffering through more regular and sustained blackouts.

It can end if Ukraine stops insisting Donbass and Crimea must fall under the coup government, stops attempts at ethnic cleaning, disbands all Nazi elements, and adopts neutrality.

I’d say you’re a fool to think I give a shit about either dump. I have the same feelings for both countries as I do for Somalia or the Central African Republic...

The good news is they won’t make this mistake ever again.

As Obama once said "Never underestimate Joes ability to **** things up".

“Russia invaded Ukraine and seized their resources, not EU.”

This happened after a US led coup, years and years of ignored warnings, and years and years of deal breaking and diplomatic sabotage. Now it’s time to pay the piper and no amount of dull pedantics is going to change that.

Too bad.

What came first? Russia’s invasion and occupation of Crimea, or the Minsk Agreements?

And, you are aware, I’m sure, that Russia said it was not a recognized combatant under the Minsk Agreements, and thus was not bound by any provisions affecting Russia.

What about Russia violating the Budapest Memorandum of 1994, wherein Russia pledged to honor Ukraine’s independence and sovereignty and promising to defend Ukraine from outside aggression?

These are things that should have been considered more carefully *before* NATO’s relentless move eastward and establishing the former state of Ukraine as a launching pad for weapons aimed at Russia.

All the countries which entered into NATO clamored to enter, begged to enter. Why? Because of fear of Russia, that is why.

NATO did not "relentlessly move eastward". Russia pushed the former East Block countries into the arms of NATO.

it ends when all of Ukraine is free of Russia, including Crimea.

Which was always Russian, actually.

Russia pledged to honor Ukraine’s independence and sovereignty and promising to defend Ukraine from outside aggression?

Yeah. It did. Once the US/NATO conducted a vicious coup in 2014, Russia stepped in to defend Ukraine, and its own people/interests in the East of Ukraine.

“NATO did not “relentlessly move eastward”.

Ignorant word games are all you’ve got. There will be no more moving east. When it sinks in for Europeans who it was that maliciously destroyed those pipelines and caused them so much harm they will have no choice but come to realize who their enemies are.

Would you be okay with, if, instead, the war ended by Putin being removed? Yes or no?

Of course not.   We shouldn't be at war with anybody.   We shouldn't have given a penny to Ukraine.

This is a manufactured proxy war to further interests bent on our destruction.   Have you never heard of the World Economic Forum's initiative, The Young Global Leaders®?

No, it ends when we cut the money and the weapons. That is when it ends.

In your dreams.

Europe sees who its enemy is.

It is Russia.

Which is really, really stupid.

It did not have to be that way. Russia could have chosen to modernize, like the Chinese model. Instead, it chose the way of Venezuela, or, perhaps Iran.

Sell lots of natural resources. Have most of the profits go to the Oligarchs.

Everyone else does with very little.

The Ukrainians are responsible for the actions of their fraudulently elected government just as we are for ours!

So suck it up or toss them out!

Both regimes despise Russia because they abandoned communism!

“Which is really, really stupid.”

As an American, the best advice I can give to foreigners, is never follow the advice of Americans. Russians are done talking have and stopped listening.

This is because many of us have proven we do not know right from wrong and never will.

If you want to persuade them you’ll have to do it militarily. Go for it.

Instead of weapons, maybe we should send firewood. Or would that offend the Climate Change wing of the Democrat Party?

“It can end if Ukraine stops insisting Donbass and Crimea must fall under the coup government, stops attempts at ethnic cleaning, disbands all Nazi elements, and adopts neutrality.”

Russia invaded Ukraine and illegally annexed Crimea in 2014, and encouraged and helped set up the separatist movements in eastern Ukraine.

The Ukrainian constitution specifically addressed the issue of regions or oblasts seeking autonomy, and Russia stepped up and cried FOUL!

And a declaration of neutrality? You mean like Belgium was neutral in 1914? And several European countries were neutral until they were invaded by Germany and/or the USSR? Forcing another country to declare neutrality is interfering with the rights of that country as a sovereign nation.

Ethnic cleansing? If Ukraine has attempted any ethnic cleansing it is a piker compared to Russia’s and the USSR’s ethnic cleansing of Ukrainians via the Holodomor in the early 1930s. How many victims have there been in Ukraine’s alleged “ethnic cleansing” operations?

And, Nazi elements? An amorphous label placed on anyone who does not see your way. Thus, meaningless. Just as nowadays the slander “racist” is meaningless. You do know, I’m sure, that if you voted for Trump, or agreed with his platform, you are a Nazi? Yes, according to the Democrats and the left you
— if you fit the above qualifier — are a Nazi. And, in the 20th century, who was responsible for more deaths and persecutions: The Nazis or the Communists? Yes, your beloved Russia — as the operative power of the USSR — was responsible for more deaths and persecutions than Nazi Germany was.

Like I said: The slander has become meaningless.

Facts are stubborn things. Don’t run away from them.

And yet, you are not on FR voicing support for Somalia or the Central African Republic. But you do for Russia vis-a-vis its invasion of Ukraine. Why is that?
