Billionaire and new Twitter owner Elon Musk tweeted a poll on Friday evening, asking if Twitter should finally reinstate former President Donald Trump.
Musk added, “Vox Populi, Vox Dei,” Latin for “the voice of the people is the voice of God.”
Trump responded to the poll on his TruthSocial platform on Saturday. He messaged a screenshot of the Twitter poll showing that 52% of respondents wanted him back on Twitter with the comment, “Vote now with positivity, but don’t worry, we aren’t going anywhere. Truth Social is special!”
Twitter originally banned Trump in January 2021, following the events of Jan. 6, claiming there was a “risk of further incitement of violence.” But Trump’s speech on Jan. 6, 2021, specifically urged a protest done “peacefully and patriotically.” Trump later tweeted another call for peace and an end to rioting during the Capitol events. So his words both on and off Twitter that day were anything but an “incitement of violence.”
Meanwhile, Iranian dictator Ayatollah Khamenei is still allowed to post on Twitter, despite his explicit endorsements of violence.

GAB, Google, LinkedIn, Rumble, Trump’s TruthSocial, Twitter, FaceBook, TikTok, WinRed (and other “Republican” donation schemes), Democrat Party equivalents of WinRed (and other liberals/progressives donations schemes), etc. are all tag and track you, snooping into your life and selling/using your personal info for their gain.
Their “Privacy Policies” and “Terms of Service” documents, leaving responsibilities re your personal info, to “third parties” who are not accountable. (”Our policy is not that of ‘our’ third parties, so you need to read their PP and ToS, too.” Essentially.)
Sounds like most of those media sites could be called
“Privacy Pimps”.
Trump should also make his presence known on Twitter. He can still do the majority of of posts on Truth. Let the Twitter audience know that he is back.
I wouldn’t call 51.8% a large majority. In fact I think it is depressing that so many don’t believe in freedom of speech. I fear it will only get worse.
Has anyone notice that President Trump’s twitter account had it following list zeroed out just like the followers and now the account is following 49 other accounts?

In many ways it doesn’t matter if Trump is on Twitter or not.
What does matter is the action of making Twitter a choice. A free and fair choice.
Good idea! Posting would show appreciation for Musk’s action.
Trump now has 53 million followers on Twitter.
He has @4 Million followers on Truth Social.
He can do both.
Trump is an idiot for not doing Twitter. Twitter is well more known.

Of course, but then that would make common sense. This will be a matter of words being eaten or reinterpreted or whatever, no way Trump stays off Twitter. It's like a moth to the light.

winred... is anti trump... and those hacks only used him and other MAGA conservatives names to extract money which has been used to persecute, prosecute, block and resist their successful campaigns. I see it as an affront to the working class Americans of the MAGA variety
I think it is smarter to contributed/give directly to those campaigns you support and do not let them use the “we already have a great app” excuse with us to abuse in their McConnell controlled distribution scam any longer.

Musk misrepresented the quote. The full quote is from a letter from Alcuin to the Emperor Charlemagne urging him to resist such ideas, “Nec audiendi qui solent dicere, Vox populi, vox Dei, quum tumultuositas vulgi semper insaniae proxima sit.” Which translates as “And do not listen to those who keep saying, ‘The voice of the people is the voice of God’, because the tumult of the crowd is always close to madness. Not quite what he wanted to say.
