Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni Took a Blowtorch to Emmanuel Macron

Giorgia Meloni has become a bit of a cult figure in world politics since her right-wing coalition was swept into power back in the summer of 2022, much to the shock of many. Videos of her speaking about identity, illegal immigration, and transgenderism have gone viral, showing a woman who isn’t afraid to get in the ring and speak her mind.

She may have done her best work in a recently unearthed, viral clip – thought to be from 2019 – where she absolutely eviscerated France’s Emmanuel Marcon, who’s previously taken jabs at Meloni. Watch the whole thing because it’s an absolute pleasure all the way around. She’s good at this. Really, really good at this.

France is still a considerable economic and military power. Don’t be fooled by the daily political noise.

When Spain was no longer a world power, France was. France had the second largest global empire @1870-1945, after Britain.

the soul of this woman contains that adjective spitting, hand gestures faster than ASL, and the occasional plate toss, with conviction for her country, and with the mind as sharp as a stiletto!

i like this woman, much!

I’ve seen several of her speeches, the content of which mimmicks Maggie and The Donald. She and Donnie will get along very well.

First of all, it's true. Secondly, it might be superfluous to you, but it's a straightforward comment to me. Ego has nothing to do with it. Trump is great in many ways, but we all know he's the bull-in-a-china-shop type, not someone with finesse. Having class involves good manners, politeness, pride without showboating, empathy, humility, and an abundance of self-control. Ask yourself if Trump fits that description.

She is Trump-like, but with class.

Make a good VP for DJT

France peaked from 732 - 814, imho.

Been downhill ever since. Thanks for the help for our revolution and our purchase of Louisiana turned out real nice for us.

how is France even considered a world power? ....

They have nukes. When you have nukes (and they actually work) you're in the club.

France had the second largest global empire @1870-1945,

Mostly by default - which is why I downgraded them. They just sort of stood there, saying in Frogish, “Look at me, me be biggish, run!” Then when challenged, ran away.

The French, more than the English, actually set out to conquer stuff, with a plan and everything. They decided, one fine day in Paris, that they would conquer X, Y or Z, just because.

The British tended to be drawn almost inadvertently into expansion because some fool was making trouble on some frontier, some mad mullah or Zulu/Xhosa or Sikh or Mahratta, and one had to put on a punitive expedition of course, and then, just in case, one just had to run the bloody place, because else the buggers would just do it all over again, eh what?
