It’s Costing Peanuts for the US to Defeat Russia
CEPA ^ | 18-NOV-2022 | Timothy Ash

Posted on 11/19/2022 10:14:44 AM PST by SpeedyInTexas

The Ukrainian armed forces have already killed or wounded upwards of 100,000 Russian troops, half its original fighting force; there have been almost 8,000 confirmed losses of armored vehicles including thousands of tanks, thousands of APCs, artillery pieces, hundreds of fixed and rotary wing aircraft, and numerous naval vessels. US spending of 5.6% of its defense budget to destroy nearly half of Russia’s conventional military capability seems like an absolutely incredible investment. If we divide out the US defense budget to the threats it faces, Russia would perhaps be of the order of $100bn-150bn in spend-to-threat. So spending just $40bn a year, erodes a threat value of $100-150bn, a two-to-three time return.

The US military might reasonably wish Russia to continue deploying military forces for Ukraine to destroy.

...

In conclusion, on so many levels, continued US support for Ukraine is a no-brainer from a bang for buck perspective. Ukraine is no Vietnam or Afghanistan for the US, but it is exactly that for Russia. A Russia continually mired in a war it cannot win is a huge strategic win for the US.

Why would anyone object to that?

These pro-Euro people are sick. Bankrupting the USA (and yes that is what they want) is bad enough, but they have NO compassion for the tens of thousands of Ukrainians being slaughtered for the benefit of the European Union.

How have they turned against Putin? The WEF EU built their economies around Russian energy. Now they’re partnering with Putin to nuke up Iran. The WEF, CCP and Putin are two MAGA America hating peas in a pod. They have the same goals but just brand their efforts differently.

Joint Chief of Staff General Mark ‘Raytheon’ Milley.

Joint Chief of Staff is nothing but a mouthpiece puppet for those who inhabit the White House.

What frakin’ WOKE clown who couldn’t even oversee the disastrous Saigon-like of Afghanistan but apparently, he on top how much the Russians are losing?

The idiot is a walking, talking, breathing lying word salad machine.

“Almost 1 trillion dollars is NOT peanuts”

But only a small portion of that was spent on the war. The rest came back to elect democrats in 2022.

The why the hell is Jo Jo sending them taxpayer dollars? Peanuts are cheaper.

I say let the lefties who want to send our money to that money laundering machine raise the “peanuts” themselves by crowdfunding. Maybe have some garage sales, bake sales and car washes.

Let them fund this racket.

How have they stood with Putin?

Remember, the WEF hates all sovereign nations. They want free borders, with them in complete control. They have already been successful in diluting the western nations who were victorious in WWI & WWII into being more compliant nations, which they tested with the plandemic.

If they remove Putin the will topple Russia as a superpower. Then they can & will seize all of their natural resources. Resources that go far beyond just oil.

The remaining question i, if China is with the WEF or not. If they are with them, Is believe it is not real as far as China is concerned. Keep you allies close, and your enemies closer.

China hates MAGA far more than Russia does, for MAGA was the first to ever push back against China in any significant manner. MAGA, or Trump, did not have many quarrels with Russia, at least that I saw.

Been making the same point for months.

A reawakening of the NATO alliance and massive degradation of the Russian military dramatically reduces the amount of forces we must commit/reserve in case of Russian aggression. We can more confidently commit a higher percentage of our forces for contingencies in the Pacific because of this.

Peace would be better, but given that the Russian insistance on invading a neighbor who wants to fight back, this is the biggest bang for the buck we've ever gotten.

Spot-on analysis. Helping others fight for themselves is what we did for most of the cold war and is the best way to do the same now. Unfortunately, too many in our gubmint are aligned with China and RuSSia. They are traitorous to America.

I’m still astonished that 4 little HIMARS halted RuSSia’s advance and a few more reversed them. It’s equally astonishing that RuSSia STILL cannot fight a well-planned war. They are helpless without rail lines. They have not progressed beyond the 1940’s.

Though I wish that Ukraine had been sold the weapons prior to the invasion, that is mostly due to criminal Obama/Biden’s refusal to sell them. It’s similar to what happened in Korea in 1950. The Norks invaded because we refused heavy weapons to the South. Never forget that being fully prepared for war is the best way to prevent it.

The Ukrainians quite clearly don't want "free borders" either, which is exactly why they are defending them against Russia.

This war wasn't started by Ukraine or the West to prove Putin from power - most folks thought it would be over quickly so that would have been stupid. Putin started it to conquer a neighbor, and could stop it at any time simply by going home.
