It’s Costing Peanuts for the US to Defeat Russia
CEPA ^ | 18-NOV-2022 | Timothy Ash

Posted on 11/19/2022 10:14:44 AM PST by SpeedyInTexas

The Ukrainian armed forces have already killed or wounded upwards of 100,000 Russian troops, half its original fighting force; there have been almost 8,000 confirmed losses of armored vehicles including thousands of tanks, thousands of APCs, artillery pieces, hundreds of fixed and rotary wing aircraft, and numerous naval vessels. US spending of 5.6% of its defense budget to destroy nearly half of Russia’s conventional military capability seems like an absolutely incredible investment. If we divide out the US defense budget to the threats it faces, Russia would perhaps be of the order of $100bn-150bn in spend-to-threat. So spending just $40bn a year, erodes a threat value of $100-150bn, a two-to-three time return.

The US military might reasonably wish Russia to continue deploying military forces for Ukraine to destroy.

...

In conclusion, on so many levels, continued US support for Ukraine is a no-brainer from a bang for buck perspective. Ukraine is no Vietnam or Afghanistan for the US, but it is exactly that for Russia. A Russia continually mired in a war it cannot win is a huge strategic win for the US.

Why would anyone object to that?

In my estimation, it’s costing over $1200/ working US adult this year and THAT ain’t “peanuts”

What value do you place on good American jobs? Kicking Russian corruption and influence out of Europe will bring massive economic benefits to the US. Or maybe you want to Make Russia Great Again instead?

“The strategy should be the removal of it’s current leadership by Russian politics.”

Be careful what you wish for. I’m certainly no fan of Putin, but whoever comes after him may be worse.

$40 bn a year is enough to give each man, woman and child in the US $121. Reduce that to just taxpayers, and give us back our money.

We are spending about $10,000 per citizen in the annexed territory.

We are probably spending about $20,000 to $50,000 per citizen that doesn’t want to be annexed. This is many times more than their annual salary. Would have been much cheaper to just send each citizen a big check to relocate.

Cutting and running is the worst possible outcome.

I have to laugh and say...but we do it so well! This thing you neo's have with needing war with Russia is a sickness. It can only be cured with a blinding flash.

“The Ukrainian armed forces have already killed or wounded upwards of 100,000 Russian troops...”

LMAO.
According to who?
Some un-named US DoD or Pentagon person?
Some un-named Ukrainian official?

You peddlers continually use West/UK/US/EU/NATO propaganda media sources and now you using another propaganda CEPA source. Ironic huh?

And yet, according to the very same West/UK/US/EU/NATO propaganda media sources, you know, the BBC News Russian service, the Russians have only lost........8294!

The great Red Menace is now the Democratic party and its officials.

That right there is the unvarnished truth of things!

And they hate Russia for having the gall to abandon communism...

What about the immorality of using Ukraine as a patsy for US interests while destroying their country and killing off their people? Funny how they never address that question.

None of this would have happened if Putin had not invaded. Even now it would stop if he would just go home.

The way we are waging a proxy war with Russia may work tactically, but at the strategic cost of pushing them into an alliance with the Chinese.

The military and economic tactics used to achieve the short term goal of winning in Ukraine is effectively creating the most dangerous military threat we will ever face in the future.

Putin is a full partner with WEF Schwab.

Sorry, I don't agree with your statement.

I think he was invited to join the cabal, but rejected it, sometime after he had taken the Young Global Leaders program. I do believe that is why they have all turned against him.

I think the Great Reset Initiative is why they called the infamous Hillary button, the reset button. They were tied to the same objective, but he refused to participate.

Of course, I am just offering my opinion, as are you.

However my reasoning explains why they turned against Russia, because Democrat presidents had warm relationships with Russia, until late in Obama's reign.

Yep, Leave a dying Putin with only his NUCLEAR WEAPONS to strike out.....
Brilliant!

I was just going to say the same thing but you beat me to it. The senile Sleepy Joe puppet's handlers want to turn Ukraine/Russia into World War III (to divert attention away from Sleepy Joe's disastrous so-called "Administration"). The senile Sleepy Joe puppet Manchurian Candidate is obviously not "Brilliant" ("2 Words - Made In America!"). Is there any country in the world NOT laughing at the U.S. during the past two years? I can't think of even one. Even North Korea's Kim Jong-un has to be pissing himself laughing at that video: "2 Words - Made In America! ... HA-HA-HA-HA!!!! ......"

As President Trump correctly said to Sleepy Joe during their debate: "Did you [just] use the word 'smart?' So you said you went to Delaware State but you forgot the name of your college. You didn't go to Delaware State. You graduated the lowest or almost the lowest in your class. Don't ever use the word 'smart' with me. Don't ever use that word. Because you know what, there's nothing 'smart' about you, Joe. Forty-seven years [in the Senate] and you've done nothing. Let me just tell you something Joe ..." [Suddenly, the extremely anti-Trump Fox RINO debate moderator, Chris Wallace, abruptly silenced President Trump to save Wallace's favorite Sleepy Joe puppet.] RINO Wallace repeatedly interrupted and shut down President Trump. RINO Wallace also frequently stepped in to save his Sleepy Joe puppet each and every time he began saying nonsensical things or was incoherently mumbling (or both).

During their 2020 Election Steal, Democrat/RINO debate moderators helped their senile Sleepy Joe puppet and, in 2022, Democrat/RINO debate producers helped their Lerch-like, black-hoodie-wearing Democrat, Fetterman, who's incapable of processing human speech. In both debates, those clearly unqualified Democrat politicians were "saved" by the Democrat/RINO debate producers and moderators, time and time again. In Democrat Fetterman's U.S. Senate debate, the debate producers even put giant closed-caption video screens over the heads of the moderators so Fetterman could understand what the moderators and his opponent were saying to him. Even after everything they've been through for the past two years, Democrat/RINO voters throughout the nation continue excitedly voting for the terribly disastrous policies of Democrat/RINO politicians ......

Ukraine has lost the same amount. This is a proxy war. But at least we have killed less than the 500K in Libya and the 2 million in Syria over oil. And over 1 million in Iraq
