Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.) holds a slight lead of 1,122 votes over Democrat Adam Frisch one week after Election Day, and both candidates say a recount is likely as the race remains too close to call.
The conservative firebrand was seen as likely to cruise to a second term, so even if she holds her narrow lead after the counts are finalized, the close margin marks a major surprise in this year’s midterm elections.
As of Tuesday afternoon, Republicans are just one seat away from taking the House majority. With 12 seats still up for grabs, the GOP has multiple paths to victory in the chance that Boebert’s lead dissipates.
Both Boebert and Frisch have indicated a recount is likely in their race following the tabulation of any remaining votes, urging their supporters to donate so the campaigns can continue expending resources as the count progresses.

They destroyed her business and now they are trying to steal her election.
Is it too late to mail in another ballot?
When States like Texas and Florida can somehow count votes overnight, it seems incredibly suspicious that certain Dem states lack the same ability. To the point, it reeks of fraud.
In Federal elections (President, Senate and House) all US citizens are affected by the outcome. Maybe my State should have standing to sue other States? Slippery slope to Fed control? I don’t have the answer, but I know I am affected by the headcount of D and R.
There is a minimal qualitative set of data, a simple quantitative exercise- and yet here we are...
Yep. Doesn’t look good. Every protracted “vote count” so far has gone ratty.
The Tea Party didn’t really sort of disappear. In some instances, the IRS did damage. In other instances, the GOP Establishment and people like Boehner and McCain deeply damaged the Tea Party.
But the core problem is that conservatives don’t want to be activist. There is a strong preference for “I’m here for election day” and then “I’m nowhere until 23 months from now, for the next election”.
The lack of activism on our part is killing us. Politics isn’t a vote-and-then-wash-your-hands-of-it-for-729-days affair. Our Founders warned us that the price of freedom is eternal vigilance.
Not enough are willing to pay the price and our continued march toward tyranny reflects these past due payments. We are deeply, deeply past due.
Congressional districts average north of 750,000 population, so probably more than 150,000 voters. Number of eligible voters should be at least comparable to every other district.
I miss all these people so much. I’ve seen that video several times over the years and I stand at the ready to go to D.C. for more protests on April 15th should they ever be organized ever again.
Peaceful protests like these are so much fun.
Tea Party was a perfect example of the wisdom of the redoubtable Eric Hoffer. “every great cause begins as a movement, becomes a business, and eventually degenerates into a racket.”
Thanks for that. Takes me back to that time.
That was the fake Tea Party USA or Tea Party Express which was known as the fake version used to get money from patriots
Many a prominent Congresscritter has lost in surprise results because they “went national” and forgot about the district. I am not say that’s what happened here, but I would not be surprised if it is.
The Republicans want her to lose worse than the Democrats do
GOP has 218 seats. MSM is hiding the fact that CA 27 was won by Mike Garcia, that is the 218th seat.
The headline is “Democrat Christy Smith knows she is going to lose her election...” This is the LA Times.
MSM is obviously suppressing this in order to take the wind out of Trumps sails as he announces for 2024. Disgusting.
I think it stopped being a grassroots thing and various individuals and groups tried to co-opt it for their ends and gain. It’s not just leftist causes that no mattter how pure their origin, become rackets.
‘Never’ is a mild overstatement. My GOP congresswoman survived her recount by six votes in ‘20.

The biggest change is to the 3rd congressional district. Currently, it forms a massive hook encompassing the entire Western Slope and Pueblo. But the new staff map transforms it into a southern and western district that only reaches as far north as I-70, including Mesa and Eagle counties, and then stretches east past Pueblo to include Crowley, Otero and Las Animas counties.
Not everyone is pleased with the map though
“Rural Colorado is the huge loser,” said Josh Penry, a Republican campaign operative who worked to pass the amendments that set up the new redistricting process. “I mean, rural Colorado got sliced and diced.”
Thanks for the info! Agreed on the MSM.
Mail-in voting provides many additional touch points to a ballot out of sight of the voter. Or really, anyone for that matter.
You just have to trust the USPS and election workers.
Do you have a reason to trust these people? I don’t. Matter of fact, quite the opposite.
But Democrats sure want you to mail your ballot. This would usually tell the critical thinker something.
I'm in the military. I've been voting by mail for years, often in winning elections.
Democrats will continue to enjoy the massive advantage of mail-in voting. It's not going anywhere.
Republicans can join them and mitigate this advantage or continue to exclaim, "Voting by mail is unpatriotic! You need to stand in line on Election Day!"
Those were good, thanks!
I thought the Tea Party lady with the yardstick for a sign handle was iconic.
