Shares of Amazon were down about 2.5% Monday.
The cuts would be the largest in the company's history, and would primarily impact Amazon's devices organization, retail division and human resources, according to the report. The reported layoffs would represent less than 1% of Amazon's global workforce and 3% of its corporate employees.

“Best economy evah.”
Americans are stupid and apathetic. The lessons will be quite painful.
About three years ago, Amazon bought a large warehouse in Maryland. Hundreds of grey vans delivered out of there. They did all kinds of renovations.
A few weeks ago, they moved out.
Layoffs in HR. That’s rasis.
That's OK, the suckers already voted Democrat.
“Elections have consequences.”
Amazon, Facebook, Twitter. Anybody talking about a recession?
Hi.
Doesn’t Amazon currently have union organizing problems?

Yup. In the usual dem-o-rat hellholes.
Just after mid-elections. Hmmmm.
I agree. Good, feel the pain dumbasses.
Yep, they voted for layoffs (and more crime), so no sympathy.

Unions were raising their demands across our/their fruited plain.
Rumors of Amazon warehouses being closed and delivery people laid off have been common since then.
Last Friday/Saturday, we, neighbors and friends in our area often had several Amazon deliveries from different delivery services. I had 2 from Amazon, 2 UPS, one regular mail and one special mail and 1 generic delivery with a plain white van and a guy in a tee shirt and jeans this past Fri/Sat.
My order for Salonpas patches went from early 1 day to yesterday with a late no show and nothing this morning being shipped.
One of our in laws’ back in the Midwest told us to increase the size of our mailbox from regular to extra large to hold stuff being sent by mail and avoid having our regular size mailbox overwhelmed and damaged by delivery people. Glad our new mailbox was set up last week with the stuff stuffed into it all week.
