The Hill ^ | 11/11/22 | BY JARED GANS

New Hampshire Gov. Chris Sununu (R) said Sens. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) and Rick Scott (R-Fla.) cost the GOP in the midterm elections with their respective comments on abortion and Social Security.

Sununu said on “Julie Mason Mornings” on SiriusXM’s POTUS channel in an interview that aired on Friday that Graham “didn’t do anybody any favors” when he proposed a 15-week national abortion ban, nor did Scott with his comments in support of requiring Congress to renew Social Security every five years instead of it being automatically renewed.

I can certainly agree with abortion remarks. All that getting rid of Roe v Wade was supposed to do was give that matter back to the states as it was before. Graham’s remarks about a nationwide ban were just as contradictory as having nationwide abortion on demand.

Sununu is a RINO, but he’s not wrong. Stupid moves that cost the GOP bigly.

Social Security is the most popular federal program, according to polls

So Republicans who call for “sun setting” it must be on the take from Democrats, in my theory, because there’s no political future for a party that opposes a program Americans overwhelmingly support.

Sununu injecting himself into the national conversation repeatedly:

If he is releasing a book, he plans to run for POTUS.

If he is not releasing a book, he is being paid by SOROS.

Agreed. It was an idiotic move by someone who should know better.

New Hampshire Gov. Chris Sununu (R) would make a better use of his time to curtail the selection of a very ugly dude as a Miss America contestant.

Graham is not stupid. He knew he would be motivating Democrats and liberal independents to vote against the GOP

The question is, why? Was he ordered to undermine his party? Offered a reward? Issued a threat?

Even though something needs to be done about this Federal Ponzi Scheme. Unfortunately telling the truth about it and proposing ways to replace is an instant vote loser. It’s extremely stupid to do right before an election. Honest thing to do but politically stupid!

The GOP was never going to institute a nationwide ban on abortion. And if they brought it to a vote I'd bet money that Graham woud vote no. So why bring it up? Why float a totally fake issue that only serves to give an issue to the other side?

Because that was to purpose.

Sununu is 100% correct.
Graham talking to push for a nationwide ban 1 month before the election did it.
I still think Graham did it on purpose.

That may have played a role but was nowhere near enough. Poll after poll showed voters’ number one concern by far was inflation and pocketbook issues. And miraculously Democrats still pull out a victory.

“ New Hampshire Gov. Chris Sununu (R) would make a better use of his time”

I’m not a fan of his, but he has done a service by calling out Lindsey and Scott for sabatoging the election. The focus should be on them, not him. What was their motivationion? Part of the coordinated antiTrump strategy?

Yes Sununu is actually right here. Seems odd for a RINO. But, I'll take it.

Guys like Sununu will never take the paradigm shift set into place 2016 when djt got through. They’ll do everything they can to stop that

If lake and the house go gop the establishment will and have started to delegitimize them

Sununu and anyone not seeing this as a non election are not helping at all

The country is likely like Fla where the anti trump contender was allowed to succeed

Look at all the races that are allowed to go in checked. School board. Rural and suburban Calif and NY

New Yorkers - in addition to flipping many seats red- unseated the Democrat campaign chief, Maloney, prob they were combined smug and paying too much attn to Zeldin who got very close to winning

Sununu is the past
