This would be the first time since 1986 — and only the second time since 1934 — that the opposition party has had a net loss of governor’s seats. Only once in the past 100 years has the opposition party lost both Senate seats and governor’s mansions: 1934. Republicans could feasibly do that. The opposition party has gained state legislative chambers in every midterm election held since 2002, flipping an average of more than 12 chambers. Republicans have currently lost at least three chambers — both chambers in Michigan, and the Minnesota state Senate — and appear as though they’ll lose the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, as well.

I suspect the GOP at the state level in MI, MN, and PA were for the most part do nothings to begin with.
Two words explain it
Trump and Abortion
People rejected his candidates and women, especially independents were pissed about Roe. So much so that “RoeVember” was trending just about everywhere.
The GOP had a wave election in 2010 - picked up 63 House seats and 65 Senate seats.
And nothing changed because the same leadership was in place that’s in place now. McConnell & John Behner / Paul Ryan went along with whatever Obama wanted.
Obama refused to put out an annual budget, and the GOP never put one out either - we have not had an annual budget voted on since then.

<><>2022 Repub wave is bigger (more votes) than tea party 2014…
<><>Republicans outvoted democrats 52-46 nationwide…
<><>6 million vote advantage for republicans…
{CITIZEN FREE PRESS HEADER}
44 million total Dem votes reported. Where did Biden’s 37.5 million voters go?
(FREEPER PETE DOVGAN)
Dems wasted $200 million just on serial losers Stacey and Beto…
Maybe they should ask Nancy Pelosi who won.
Why do citizens vote to support Demo-Crazy, Demo-Crime, Demo-Demolish-the-Nation?
We won the House by wide margins and according to the leftard media, WE LOST????
Explain this nonsense to me.
It wasn’t “bad”, that’s the media narrative.
Frankly I’m ecstatic. Brandon’s march of Leftist terror was stopped in it’s tracks. If the media/Dems want to say losing the House is winning, so be it.
The GOP circular firing squad don’t care about no facts.
The ground game was crap, had some lousy candidates, and didn’t press their advantage at all IMHO.
Relied on big media spends and nagging text messaging, rather than actually pounding the pavement
No, you are ignoring the elephant.
The voting process is corrupt, and controlled by the commie trash in charge. That will not change now, they have cemented their regime.
Mailin and ballot harvesting are corrupt, and useable only by those already in charge — unless there is a convenient “lockdown” emergency to set it in stone.
Pointing at DJTrump only served the MSM — the “boogeyman”.
While everyone was busy demonizing the populist, a full blown communist regime was emplaced.
First the election results aren’t in
Second,We might well take the Senate as well as the House.
Third,We also had many super majorities in a number of states.
So, while we didn’t have as good a night as we hoped it would be, overall, it was still a good night.
This was a standard mid-term. The other party won back the house and may gain the Senate. Pretty typical...historically.
It’s all coming into focus now. The blue states are dragging their feet counting the 27 remaining senate and house races.
The media goes into overdrive highlighting the few places with a bad GOP showing to deflate any good feelings from the right.
The GOP wins that result in turning the house and the senate red will be trickled out or ignored.
Six Million more republican votes than rat votes. A very strong red wave in TX, FL, NC and NY. Very good showings in many states outside of the pockets of blue sewer.
They want us demoralized....even in winning. Don’t fall for it.

“The early after-action reports in Pennsylvania are that the abortion ruling was a major contributor.”
Single women voted this year and voted hard Democrat. Definitely due to the abortion ruling as my daughter, who is single said.
“This would be the first time since 1986 — and only the second time since 1934 — that the opposition party has had a net loss of governor’s seats. “
One! The Republicans will lose ONE net seat. Republicans lost MA and MD, replacing liberal Republican governors with liberal Democrats. Golly gee, Wally!
And Republicans will be replacing a Democrat in Nevada with a Republican.
The wind was at their back, and the GOP blew it. They better think long and hard about why and make some changes before 2024.

I’ll play Devil’s Advocate. It’s possible American culture has morphed (and will continue to morph) into something completely alien to traditional conservatism. In the face of this what can the GOP be but an increasingly opposition party most of the time?
An increasing majority of Americans want their material wealth and they know good and well they can vote for it just as easily as work for it. Secondly, when civic religion of one’s nation is “individual liberty”, it’s easy to see how that can degenerate into an “anything-goes-and-we’ll-ostracize-you-if-you-don’t-agree” culture. It’s the slow, irreversible rot that affects all nations eventually. There may be periods of brief, temporary renewal but the long-term historical trend is down.
Sorry to be a “Negative Nancy”, but it seems that way. Every election since 2016 has made me more and more skeptical that the long-term trend can be reversed.
