Donald Trump has stepped up his attacks on Republicans and potential 2024 presidential election rivals by saying Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin couldn't have won without his support.
The former president wrote on Friday morning that 'Young Kin' is a name that 'sounds Chinese' and that he helped him get the 'MAGA vote' in his victory over Democrat Terry McAuliffe in November 2021.
It comes after Trump laid into Ron DeSantis by calling him 'average' and claimed that he sent in the FBI to 'stop ballot theft' when he won the Florida Governor race in 2018.
'Young Kin (now that’s an interesting take. Sounds Chinese, doesn’t it?) in Virginia couldn’t have won without me,' he posted on Truth Social.
'I Endorsed him, did a very big Trump Rally for him telephonically, got MAGA to Vote for him - or he couldn’t have come close to winning. But he knows that, and admits it. Besides, having a hard time with the Dems in Virginia - But he’ll get it done!'

If you are correct that the Deep State has that strong of a hold even in a state governed by a conservative Republican, then everything is hopeless. There is no chance that Trump can get elected, and we are all doomed.
So why do you care who people support? Why does it matter if people criticize Trump? None of it matters because he can't possibly win anyway.
If you are going to have that kind of worldview, at least apply it consistently.

You may well be right.
Trump is in lost-his-mind mode.
That is the dumbest argument I have seen on this site in a while. Youngkin and DeSantis have walked the walk and fought the Democrats hard.
Attacking them for not being MAGA ignores reality.
DeSantis in particular has all of Trump’s pluses and none of his minuses.
I’m afraid Mr. Trump needs to just shut up , and if he still wants to help the nation be great again turn his energy towards helping younger conservatives.

Unfortunately there are a lot of people that voted for him once that I am pretty sure will not vote for him again simply because he doesn’t know when to keep his mouth shut.
His ego will end up being his undoing.
VA now has Election Day, same day registration/voting.
Nobody is questioning the fact he's been a great governor. And in general, I always prefer governors as Presidents, especially as opposed to Senators.
The concern is that the powers that want MAGA gone are suddenly embracing him. That raises a huge red flag.
It was very calculated, I’m sure. He knows so much of what is going on behind the scenes that we don’t. If you had an Army of snakes vying for you, would you hold your fire?
His ego, or his knowledge of the behind the scenes facts to which those here are not privvy?
I want the country saved. I could give a flip about weenie Never Trumper feelings. Throw out any thought that there needs to be evem a semblance of gentility. This is war. As Ted Turner used to say: “Lead, follow or get out of the way”.
Is he purposely trying to lose 2024 before he announces?

Seriously, their is a difference between respect/deference and adoration.
Every move Trump makes that on it’s surface appears supercilious is NOT necessarily another calculated move of three-dimensional chess.
His inability to surround himself with loyal competent people is an example.

I agree, completely. I am not a rino. I am in fact a born again pastor of an evangelical church. I have been voting for conservatives and living a conservative life for 70 years. I enthusiastically voted for DJT. Nevertheless, he has gotten out of line bashing DeSantis and Younkin and anyone else he considers a threat. No good. wise up Trump. You are better than this, aren’t you?

Trump’s ability to fill vacancies is not helped by the fact that potential appointees know that they are looking at both a 100% chance of getting a working over by both the MSM, and the Deep State, and a 50% (at least) chance that Trump will take offense and go after them himself.
The swamp is treacherously deep and Trump knows that this time. Last time we knew it was deep. Now we know there is no shallow part of it and it is miles deep!
