Republicans should have won the Senate easily, but they nominated really bad candidates
Washington Examiner ^ | November 9, 2022 | Timothy P. Carney

There’s a lot of noise as these midterm results flow in, and a few unsettled races at the moment, but this much is clear: Republicans would control the Senate next year had they stuck to nominating good candidates. Instead, typical of the Tea Party-to-Trump Era, Republicans in many key states nominated people who were patently unfit for office.

It goes back to the Massie Theorem. Rep. Thomas Massie explained the Tea Party after the 2016 election.

"All this time," Massie said, "I thought they were voting for libertarian Republicans. But after some soul-searching, I realized when they voted for Rand and Ron and me in these primaries, they weren't voting for libertarian ideas. They were voting for the craziest son of a b**** in the race. And Donald Trump won best in class.”

Nominating the craziest son of a b**** in the race is not a formula for winning governing majorities.

Here’s the raw math:

Republicans, as of 5 a.m. Wednesday, control 48 seats in the Senate, with four states outstanding. (Technically, Alaska is still outstanding, but it is undecided between two Republican candidates.) Republican Ron Johnson will probably win reelection in Wisconsin. That means the GOP would need to win two of the final three races — outstanding contests in Nevada and Arizona, and a likely runoff in Georgia — to control the Senate. So, the odds are decent that Republicans end up with 49 or 50 seats, which is 1 or 2 seats short of Senate control.

Republicans should have won the Georgia Senate race easily this year. They also should have won Pennsylvania.

In Georgia, former NFL running back Herschel Walker will get about 48% or 49% as Gov. Brian Kemp gets about 54%.

Regardless, Democrats are going to have to find about 80K votes to keep Warnock in that seat because the Libertarian candidate won’t be in the runoff. It all depends on how SoS Raffensperger reacts now and does like he said - fair elections....

Plus you don’t have the ghettopotamus to deal with that brings out certain voters.

There’s really no one to blame honestly we are dealing with where demographics Have led us to

And aging conservative boomers or dying

Add to that Democrats have mastered vote corruption and minority urban areas in swing states

It’s a tall order how many conservative boomers died in the past six years

Sad that most don’t see that. It’s not just Trump, it’s an overall divide and conquer strategy to deflate us and affect all elections still being counted and going forward. It’s designed to get us to questioned ourselves.

All this talk about Trumps bad nominees.

Why does this criticism only apply to “Trumps nominees”?

We’re democrats nominees good?

Why did they win? Were they better?

America chose marxists because they were better, or because the election was rigged and the outcome was predetermined?

Let’s take Trump out of the equation. Would more Rodney’s, Murkowski’s and collin’s be an acceptable victory? Or just a slower death to America?

A Trump endorsement doomed them to defeat.

I’ve always thought this argument is silly. Unless you can convince someone to run, your only option is those that decide to run. Yes, we’ve had some crazies decide to run. But even our crazies are better than their commie pinkos.

My gut tells me that people didn’t actually vote for Fetterman. I think they voted for him because Fetterman would vote as he is told. All they really needed was a warm body.

It hasn’t dawned on people yet that many good people do not want to run anymore. Who needs this crap?

For many, their own party sabotages them. The GOP is it’s own worst enemy.

Establishment won. Maybe Jeb will run again too... or Chris Christie because it would never be all about him.

Some of the candidates were very good - but even those who weren’t good but okay lost against people who were horrible.

I didn’t like Dr Oz, for example, but much to my surprise, when he spoke he really sounded like an intelligent moderate conservative and had some ideas.

Yet instead they elected a literally brain-damaged guy who refused to even publicly debate Oz until the last minute. The one time Fetterman finally had a “debate” he needed so much assistance that it was practically like “blink your eyes twice for yes.” Even then, Fetterman could barely get out a coherent sentence.

Why did this happen? I think the answer is that the candidate no longer matters. Biden has accustomed us to having an office-holder who is not a real human being but just a mouthpiece for whoever is actually running the show.

So people in PA weren’t voting for Fetterman, they were voting for the D, because they knew that it made no difference who was the candidate.

Printers Involved in Florida Voter Fraud? (Runbeck)

Activists find Startling “Coincidences” and Relationships

A team of researchers from the Florida Republican Assembly have revealed some incredible “coincidences” in the relationships of Florida officials to the printing companies which print the ballots for Florida voters.

This investigation into Florida election systems began when analysts now working with the FRA went to learn just how and why the fraud occurred in 2020. As mail-in ballots have long been a vehicle for questionable voting accuracy, (Judicial Watch has found that there are over 28 million still floating around the nation from different elections!) the team from FRA chose to begin with them. They surveyed the state to see where those ballots were being sent. They learned that Pinellas County (Tampa/St. Pete) had the most mail-in ballot voters per sq. mi. in the state. By far. In Pinellas, 80- 90% of the residents of high-rise apartment buildings in the county were registered to vote by mail. Only 1 in ten residents living in high rises voted in person or early? This smelled a bit odd, so they dug further.

I really did not see a lot of enthusiasm for Oz here from the get-go.

As if there was "enthusiasm" for Fetterman.

Not that Oz ws my favorite candidate, but no the bigger problem wasn't the candidate.

The bigger problem was fraud and/or dumb voters.

...but they nominated really bad candidates

This is the Mitch McConnell line. The RNC solicited funds using Donald Trump’s name. Then Mitch held back money form Trump backed candidates. The best example was Masters in Arizona, who got nothing. McConnell knows he’ll be minority leader, but not likely to be majority leader if Trump-backed candidates win Senate seats. The SOB will sacrifice a Republican majority in the Senate to keep his job.

We are all off the usual blame game in preparation for the next failure in 2024 after we trash all the candidates and vote for the least offensive to RATs candidate.

I need a call when we decide to file for a national divorce from the RAT States of America.

You and others need to STOP blaming Donald Trump. He has good judgment but he can only pick from among the choices available. His endorsement record is stellar.

YOU ought to run. I did...for Congress a few years ago. Try on the pants YOURSELF if you don’t like the way they look on others. Demonstrate your courage and good judgment by jumping into the gladiator arena.

Let the jackals tear YOUR carcass apart.
