Poll workers at a key voting location in Arizona's Maricopa County announced Tuesday morning that voting machines at a polling station in Anthem are not working. A significant number of ballots are being misread.
"We have two tabulators, one of the tabulators is not working. The other tabulator is taking about 75 percent successful so 25 percent of them are being misread and it could be a printer issue or it could be the tabulator itself," an election worker explained.

This is a DEEP RED part of Maricopa County— Tyler Bowyer 🇺🇸 (@tylerbowyer) November 8, 2022
I am getting flooded with calls and text messages from people who are having trouble voting all over Maricopa County.
THIS is why we must reform our elections. https://t.co/oFFElskQFs— Kari Lake (@KariLake) November 8, 2022
Down south in Pima County, election officials announced a delay due to a "technology issue." It has been resolved.
Vote Center at Pascua Yaqui Tribe Wellness Center, 5305 Calle Torim, is temporarily down. Elections staff are fixing a technology issue.
Nearby Vote Centers are at 6809 S. Cardinal Ave. and 757 W. Ajo Highway.

“Voting Machines are Not Working!”
So, who won the PowerBall?
Oh, the machines aren’t working?
Sheep being led to slaughter.
Shouldn’t be a big deal and always planned for. Power outages happen. Paper ballots should be at the ready with proper colored ink pens also available if those ballots will be scanned later.
“Two years to fix this and it’s still screwed up.”
The folks running it have fixed it. It was fixed two years ago and they spent the last two years making sure nothing changed.
....and who is in charge? The Secretary of state who is also the Democrat candidate for Governor, nothing to see here.
Washington Post has a story that Arizona will be the referendum on MAGA.
what a coincidence!!!1!!11!
And the machines are plugged into the internet right???.../sarc
Need to get Sheriffs and GOP election officials involved. People need to go to jail for this.
or “Misread” meaning fake ballots do not read properly....
Where I voted in Arizona - in liberal Pima County - I filled out a paper ballot. I voted early this year - in person. My photo ID was checked. I got a ballot. Filled it out. It went into an envelope with my signature and phone number in case of any issues, then went into a container.
I went online, submitted my name and birth date. It shows my signature has been verified and my ballot will be counted in batch T5.
When I voted in 2020 on Election day, I filled out my ballot and it was then put into a container with all the other ballots.
When you check in with ID, you are marked off as having voted. If you were mailed a ballot and vote on Election Day in person, you must turn it in. Or vote provisionally to make sure you haven’t voted twice.
NOTE: What is a duplicate ballot?
“Election officials know that every ballot cast is not perfect: Corners get folded, ink gets smudged or people don’t use either a blue or black pen to fill out their ballots. The elections procedures manual prescribes how those ballots, or any ballot that cannot be read by a tabulation machine, are dealt with.
The ballots in question are sent to the Ballot Duplication Board. Each county has its own board, which must consist of equal numbers of registered voters from different political parties. The members of the board review the ballot to determine voter intention. The ballot is then copied so it can be read by a ballot tabulation machine.
If the members of the board cannot agree on voter intention the ballot is sent to what is known as the Snag Board. That board also must be made up of at least two political parties. The members of those boards must also have experience with elections.”
Please notice that in Arizona, examination of ballots with issues must be reviewed by a board with equal representation from BOTH parties.
Pima County is controlled by Democrats but I’ve never had any issue with voting. We have ID, we have voters marked off, someone getting a mailed ballot can’t vote live on Election Day without someone checking to see if they also mailed a ballot in. My neighborhood is very conservative so I suspect most of our poll workers are too.
Trust me - the technology is known. These machines could be made to work flawlessly.
Paper ballots as backup to any machine voting in the future.
They did this last time and we didn’t do anything to fix it.
Wheres the facepalm emogee?
The issue is not “competence”.
Trust me - the technology is known. These machines could be made to work flawlessly.
Paper ballots might be our future. As my mother would say, “marching backwards with flags flying..”
If they are being rejected they aren’t being “misread”. If they were being misread they would be crediting votes to the wrong candidate and you wouldn’t know it was going on
Do you get a receipt of sorts to make sure your vote is tabulated correctly?
Problem is Maricopa County now has a Dem sheriff.
Or in deep blue counties.
Lake is running against the rat SOS, l hope she had an army to help fight this.
No, not that I recall of any. I can check if my vote was counted on the state website later. The only change I noticed was the ballots changed to a bubble fill-in from a line fill-in.
