President Trump made a big unforced error attacking DeSantis at his rally the other day.
Not just because he did so just before an election day on which the Republicans simply must destroy the Democrats–after all, Governor DeSantis doesn’t need Trump’s support to win. If Trump went into full attack mode it wouldn’t dent DeSantis’ reputation one little bit.
So Trump’s attack is electorally irrelevant (which in itself is an unforced error, as it shows Trump to be weaker than he wants to look against a political rival).
Trump’s attack was a mistake because he opened up an old wound that could be Trump’s Achilles’ Heel: his huge mistakes dealing with COVID. Mistakes that DeSantis saw early and rejected quickly. Unnoticed by many, he has attacked Kemp in Georgia as well, which is truly bizarre as his attacks would help Stacey Abrams, a particularly disliked figure among Republicans. Trump once quipped that Stacey Abrams would be a better governor than Kemp–something nobody outside the Left believes. Kemp, though, will not be hurt by Trump’s jibes either.
Both Kemp and DeSantis were more right on COVID when it mattered than Trump.

Trump punched back after deSantis endorsed some Oshea? Odeah? guy that was anti-trump. DeSantis should not have started that fight with that unforced error.
DeSantis endorsed O’Dea because O’Dea is the Republican nominee in Colorado and has an outside chance of winning. I’m not O’Dea’s biggest fan, but he’s the person the Republican voters of Colorado chose. The time to attack him is in the primary. Right now, we want to get in as many Rs as possible.
The downside of the wave is that it will bring in a few new RINOs, but they’re there for organizing and a few other thifgns. They add to the Republican numbers. Better than the Democrats, which isn’t saying much.
Trump is like an old lion roaring about a younger lion.
Trump will win big in 2024 but he should stop knocking those that are as popular as DeSantis. Without DeSantis in Florida that state could very well become a democrat stronghold because of cheating.

Trump is financially independent. DeSantis is aligning himself with a former Chicagoan, Billionaire Griffin. Can DeSantis accept hundreds of millions of dollars and still be independent from the Deep State? I hope so.
I remember March 2017 when Trump announced Obama/Hillary spied on his campaign. The world thought he was nuts. Trump ended up being right. That is why when Trump says something out of the ordinary my ears perk up and I ask why did Trump say that.
