Thank you again. Will be reading up on this. I knew about the 17th amendment but was unaware of the 1964 Warren Court decision. I have long wondered why our state legislature wasn’t modeled like Congress and why the counties had no representation.
The state legislature is always passing mandates for counties to fulfill, with no funding, of course. These mandates are frequently ignored at this point, because a) there is no money and b) the legislature seems to have no desire to actually enforce them. It’s like they just pass stuff to put on their re-election brochures.
I was born there, and you're quite right.
There's Chicongo, and then there's Illinois.
Eastern Washington should start a similar initiative. Make Idaho Great Again.
Just do it.
If eastern Oregon somehow makes this work, then count on eastern Washington going for it, also. Then look for certain California counties bordering on Greater Idaho to commence the process.
