November brings Nicole and mid-term elections. Nicole has developed with subtropical characteristics in the Atlantic Ocean, taking aim for storm weary Florida.
A subtropical system has some central convection fairly near the center surrounding a warming core existing in the mid-levels of the troposphere. Nicole may further develop into a tropical storm.

Rip currents. Deceptively dangerous. Fortunately, no surfers or kite surfers.
A!A water coming over the road in South Flager Beach.
Do we have any engineers here that have seen the water behind the sea walls from Ian. I would be interested in what they think.
I heard 27 foot waves in Jacksonville.

All this while Nicole is 200 miles away from Florida. It’s gonna be a tough time along the FL Atlantic coast for the next 24 hours.

Well my goodness! I had a prayer request about this storm last night, didn’t know anything about it. Thanks for your threads and prayer for those affected.
Isn’t the season going to wind down soon???
All are welcome...
Right now, it looks like the eye tracks right over my house in Central Florida. Not likely to still be full Cat-1 strength, but I have not even gotten repairs from Ian finished.
Problem with this storm is the immense wind field. TS force winds over an extended time will wear things down. There will most likely be widespread power outages across the peninsula. We are already seeing coastal flooding and beach erosion.
With Ian I had power out for 3 days, many roads were not passable, and all traffic lights were out (with stupid people going through at 60 mph without stopping). I have extra gas and 2-cycle oil for my chainsaw. Fingers crossed that I don’t need the chainsaw like with Ian.
Having a little break low tide. High tide I think is about 8:00 WITH the King Tides...add a full moon like a cherry on top...ugh
A King Tide is a non-scientific term people often use to describe exceptionally high tides. Tides are long-period waves that roll around the planet as the ocean is “pulled” back and forth by the gravitational pull of the moon and the sun as these bodies interact with the Earth in their monthly and yearly orbits. Higher than normal tides typically occur during a new or full moon and when the Moon is at its perigee, or during specific seasons around the country.
Tampa Bay area? I’m hoping we luck out again...
