Former president Donald Trump boasted on Saturday that he’s polling way above “Ron DeSanctimonious” for the GOP 2024 presidential nomination, in an early taste of the rivalry that’s widely expected to develop after next week’s midterms.

The fact that Trump assigned the governor of Florida a derogatory nickname is a telltale sign that he considers him a legitimate competitor for 2024, and that he is indeed gearing up to run. Governor Ron DeSantis has long been regarded a GOP rising star and strong contender for president, one who could potentially have the conservative-populist credibility to take on Trump in a primary.
While presiding over the Sunshine State, DeSantis has demonstrated a willingness to apply government power to achieve conservative policy goals — incorporating some of Trump’s confrontational approach. For example, he enacted a mask-mandate ban for K-12 public schools and a prohibition on teaching gender identity and sexual orientation to elementary-aged children. Both laws received widespread support among residents. The hope of some Republicans who favor DeSantis over Trump is that he can pursue a similar agenda without the political baggage of the former president.

Not true. DeSantis endorsed and appeared with other candidates including Masters, Vance and Mastriano.

Those of us who live here are focused on Oz and Mastriano winning in PA.
The rally in PA yesterday was supposed to be about trashing democrats Fetterman, Shapiro, and our despicable governor Wolf.

Puhlease there was great opposition to Oz which Trump has fought against. Oz would not even be the candidate if Trump had not fought so hard for him.
Trump has had a big issue with De Santis supporting a Never Trumper in the Colorado senate race.
For all you know, Trump is busy convincing TDS Demonicrats that he hates DeSantis, so they’ll vote for him. Not that DeSantis needs the votes. Trump just wants him to win with 89% of the vote total.

There are more than 4 pages of article stubs. Easy to follow the progression. A picture emerges of a man who is aligning with the Paul Ryan, Wall St, non Maga side. Not yet fully aligned but certainly compromised and acting in some matters as their agent. It will become harder for DeSantis to act outside their interests & instructions as they tighten their grip. Money talks which is why Trump was so careful not to become beholden.

Here's an idea. Trump is the one who currently is unemployed and not running for any other office. So why doesn't he announce whether or not he is running?
